The ancestors of mammals diverged from ancient

Biology

Answer:

The ancestors of mammals diverged from ancient synapsids (reptiles).

Explanation:

The mammals have known to be evolved from a group of reptiles. These group of reptiles were known as synapsids. In fact, some scientists consider mammals as the only living synapsids. The close relativity between reptiles and mammals can hence be seen because they have common ancestors. The synapsids were known to inhabit the earth during the Permian Period.

The scientists, however, do not know from which reptiles exactly did the first mammals grow.

Explain how thermal energy is transferred from land and water to lower layers of Earth's atmosphere. How does this energy impact
Slav-nsk [51]

Explanation:

Land and water absorb most of the solar radiation from the sun. Some of this solar energy from land and water is then transferred to the lower atmosphere which is in contact with the continents and oceans. From Land, this occurs mostly as heat energy or infrared radiation. Water usually transfers this energy through the evaporation of water into the atmosphere (This is responsible for clouds in the troposphere).

The lower atmosphere therefore gets heated faster and warmer than the upper atmosphere. This causes it to become less dense. The air mass rises into upper atmosphere where it released this energy and cools down.  It gains density and sinks again and the cycle continues. The energy released into the upper atmosphere is distributed across the globe by wind currents like the Gulf Stream.

G6PD deficiency is an inherited condition in which the body doesn't have enough of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase,
anygoal [31]
<span>Natural selection favors G6PD deficiency as compared to malaria

Individuals in which the G6PD deficiency is common live in areas where malaria is an epidemic problem. Natural selection, a process which selects traits favorable traits out of a species' gene pool, will favor the individuals with G6PD deficiency to survive as they will not be affected by malaria. Their immunity to malaria will help these individuals pass on their genes better, meaning the gene for G6PD will become common, as is the case.
