Answer:

a) P(X=2) = (2C2) (0.11)^2 (1-0.11)^{2-2}= 0.0121

b) P(X=0) = (2C0) (0.11)^0 (1-0.11)^{2-0}= 0.7921

P(X \geq 1)= 1-P(X

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

The binomial distribution is a "DISCRETE probability distribution that summarizes the probability that a value will take one of two independent values under a given set of parameters. The assumptions for the binomial distribution are that there is only one outcome for each trial, each trial has the same probability of success, and each trial is mutually exclusive, or independent of each other".

Solution to the problem

Part a

Let X the random variable "number of people math phobicmath phobic" , on this case we now that the distribution of the random variable is:

X \sim Binom(n=2, p=0.11)

The probability mass function for the Binomial distribution is given as:

P(X)=(nCx)(p)^x (1-p)^{n-x}

Where (nCx) means combinatory and it's given by this formula:

nCx=\frac{n!}{(n-x)! x!}

And we want this probability:

P(X=2)

If we use the probability mass function we got:

P(X=2) = (2C2) (0.11)^2 (1-0.11)^{2-2}= 0.0121

Part b

For this case we want this probability:

P(X \geq 1)= 1-P(X

We can find first this probability

P(X=0) = (2C0) (0.11)^0 (1-0.11)^{2-0}= 0.7921

P(X \geq 1)= 1-P(X

The figure shown below is composed of a semicircle and a non-overlapping equilateral triangle and contains a hole that is also c
Sloan [31]

Check the picture below.

since we know the radius of the larger semicircle is 8, thus its diameter is 16, which is the length of one side of the equilateral triangle.  We also know the smaller semicircle has a radius of 1/3, and thus a diameter of 2/3, namely the lenght of one side of the small equilateral triangle.

now, if we just can get the area of the larger figure and the area of the smaller one and subtract the smaller from the larger, we'll be in effect making a hole/gap in the larger and what's leftover is the shaded figure.

\bf \stackrel{\textit{area of a semi-circle}}{A=\cfrac{1}{2}\pi r^2\qquad r=radius}~\hspace{10em}\stackrel{\textit{area of an equilateral triangle}}{A=\cfrac{s^2\sqrt{3}}{4}\qquad s=\stackrel{side's}{length}} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{\Large Areas}}{\left[ \stackrel{\textit{larger figure}}{\cfrac{1}{2}\pi 8^2~~+~~\cfrac{16^2\sqrt{3}}{4}} \right]\qquad -\qquad \left[ \cfrac{1}{2}\pi \left( \cfrac{1}{3} \right)^2 +\cfrac{\left( \frac{2}{3} \right)^2\sqrt{3}}{4}\right]}

\bf \left[ 32\pi +64\sqrt{3} \right]\qquad -\qquad \left[ \cfrac{\pi }{18}+\cfrac{\frac{4}{9}\sqrt{3}}{4} \right] \\\\\\ \left[ 32\pi +64\sqrt{3} \right]\qquad -\qquad \left[ \cfrac{\pi }{18}+\cfrac{\sqrt{3}}{9} \right]~~\approx~~ 211.38 - 0.37~~\approx~~ 211.01

Select all statements below which are true for all invertible n×n matrices A and B
nirvana33 [79]
The statements that are rue for <span>all invertible n×n matrices A and B are:
</span><span>(A+B)(A−B)=A^2−B^2
</span>and
<span>(ABA^−1)^4=AB^4A^−1
</span>From the above results we can conclude that the correct options among all the options that are given in the question are option "B" and option "E". I hope the answer helps you.

Answer:

\large\boxed{\theta=-\dfrac{\pi}{4}+k\pi\ or\ \theta=k\pi}\ for\ k\in\mathbb{Z}

Step-by-step explanation:

\tan^2\theta+\tan\theta=0\\\\\tan\theta(\tan\theta+1)=0\iff\tan\theta=0\ \vee\ \tan\theta+1=0\\\\\tan\theta=0\Rightarrow \theta=k\pi\ \text{for}\ k\in\mathbb{Z}\\\\\tan\theta+1=0\qquad\text{subtract 1 from both sides}\\\\\tan\theta=-1\Rightarrow\theta=-\dfrac{\pi}{4}+k\pi\ \text{for}\ k\in\mathbb{Z}

A batch consists of 12 defective coils and 88 good ones. Find the probability of getting two good coils when two coils are rando
Allushta [10]

<u>Answer:</u>

The probability of getting two good coils when two coils are randomly selected if the first selection is replaced before the second is made is 0.7744

<u>Solution:</u>

Total number of coils = number of good coils + defective coils = 88 + 12 = 100

p(getting two good coils for two selection) = p( getting 2 good coils for first selection ) \times p(getting 2 good coils for second selection)

p(first selection) = p(second selection) = \frac{\text { number of good coils }}{\text { total number of coils }}

Hence, p(getting 2 good coil for two selection) = \frac{88}{100} \times \frac{88}{100} =\bold{0.7744}
