Convection cell that occurs at the lowest latitudes is called the Hadley cells. This is an atmospheric convection cell which is large-scale. The air rises at the equator and sinks at the medium latitudes which are 30 degrees north or south.

In the bedroom of your house you would like to run a 240 W toward, a 30 W alarm clock, a 720 W tanning bed, and four 60 W lights
erica [24]

Answer: current = 10.25A

Explanation:

Toward = 240w

Alarm clock = 30w

Tanning bed = 720w

4 60 watts bulb = 60 * 4 = 240w

Total power = 240 + 30 + 720 + 240 = 1230w

Voltage = 120v

Recall that Power = current * voltage

1230 = current * 120

current = 1230/120 = 10.25A

Water drops from the nozzle of a shower onto the floor 81 inches below. The drops fall at regular intervals of time, the first d
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

0.91437 m

0.22859 m

Explanation:

g = Acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s² = a

s=81\ inches=81\times 0.0254=2.0574\ m

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2\\\Rightarrow 2.0574=0t+\frac{1}{2}\times 9.81\times t^2\\\Rightarrow t=\sqrt{\frac{2.0574\times 2}{9.81}}\\\Rightarrow t=0.64764\ s

When the time intervals are equal, if four drops are falling then we have 3 time intervals.

So, the time interval is

t'=\dfrac{t}{3}\\\Rightarrow t'=\dfrac{0.64764}{3}\\\Rightarrow t'=0.21588\ s

For second drop time is given by

t''=2t'\\\Rightarrow t''=2\times 0.21588\\\Rightarrow t''=0.43176\ s

Distance from second drop

s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2\\\Rightarrow y''=ut''+\dfrac{1}{2}at''^2\\\Rightarrow s=0\times t+\dfrac{1}{2}\times 9.81\times 0.43176^2\\\Rightarrow s=0.91437\ m

Distance from second drop is 0.91437 m

Distance from third drop

s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2\\\Rightarrow y''=ut'+\dfrac{1}{2}at'^2\\\Rightarrow s=0\times t+\dfrac{1}{2}\times 9.81\times 0.21588^2\\\Rightarrow s=0.22859\ m

Distance from third drop is 0.22859 m

A block of mass 10 kg and measuring 250 mm on each edge is pulled up an inclined surface on which there is a film of SAE 10W-30
Ivan

Answer:

a) 2.53 * 10^-2 m/s

b) -4.78 * 10^-2 m/s

c)  1.21 * 10^-1 m/s

Explanation:

Given data :

Mass of block = 10 kg

Measuring 250mm on each side

a) calculate the speed  when a force of 75N is applied to pull block upwards

F = f + W sin∅ ( equation for applying the force of equilibrium condition in the x axis )  ----- ( 1 )

f ( friction force )=  ( 16400v * 6.25 *10^-2) =  1025 v

F ( force applied ) = 75

W ( weight of  block ) = 10 * 9.81 = 98.1 N

∅ = 30°

input values into equation 1

V = \frac{75- (98.1*sin30^{0}) }{1025} = 2.53 * 10^-2 m/s

b) Speed when no force is applied on the block

F = f + W sin∅

F = 0

f = 1025 V

W = 98.1 N

∅ = 30°

hence V = \frac{0 - (98.1*sin30^{0}) }{1025} =  - 4.78 * 10^-2 m/s

c) when a force is applied to push block down the incline

F = f + W sin∅ ----- ( 3 )

F = 75 N

f = 1025 V

W = 98.1 N

∅ = 30°

input values into equation 3 considering the fact that the weight of the block is acting in the opposite direction

75 = 1025 V - 98.1 ( sin 30° )

V = \frac{75+( 98.1*sin30^{0})  }{1025} = 1.21 * 10^-1 m/s
