To solve this we assume that the gas inside the balloon is an ideal gas. Then, we can use the ideal gas equation which is expressed as PV = nRT. At a constant temperature and number of moles of the gas the product of PV is equal to some constant. At another set of condition of temperature, the constant is still the same. Calculations are as follows:

P1V1 = P2V2

V2 = P1V1 / P2

V2 = 0.865 x 1.25 / 0.820

V2 = 1.32 L

Why is an elements atomic mass not listed as a whole number in the periodic table
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

They aren't listed as a whole number, because an atom's mass is not always a whole number. The mass differs between types of atoms as well.

An element's group number tells you how many _________________ _________________ the element has.
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer: An element's group number tells you how many valence electrons the element has.

Explanation:

In the periodic table, each element is placed in a specific location because of its atomic structure.

The elements are arranged in rows,  called a period. All of the elements in a period have the same number of atomic orbitals.

The elements are also arranged in vertical columns. Each column is called a group. The elements in each group have the same number of electrons in the outer orbital. These electrons are called as valence electrons.  Example: Group 1 elements have 1 valence electron each.

For the reaction co(g)+h2o(g)⇌h2(g)+co2(g), k= 4.24 at 800 k what can be said about this reaction at this temperature?
Amanda [17]

The question has missing information.

The options are given below.

a.The equilibrium lies far to the right

b. The reaction will proceed very slowly

c. The reaction contains significant amounts of products and reactants at equilibrium.

d. The equilibrium lies far to the left

Answer : The correct answer is option c: The reaction contains significant amounts of products and reactants at equilibrium.

Explanation :

Option a is not correct because for equilibrium to lie far to the right, we need a large value of keq ( Keq >>> 1 ), but the keq value is small.

option b is also not correct because in order to predict the speed of the reaction, we need more information. The speed of the reaction cannot be predicted using Keq value.

Option d is not correct because for Keq to lie far to the left, it has to be very very small. ( Keq <<< 1)

The value of equilibrium constant is given as 4.24. This value is very near to 1.

Equilibrium constant for this reaction is calculated as

Keq = \frac{[H_{2}] [CO_{2}]}{[H_{2}O][CO]}

When Keq = 1, [H_{2}] [CO_{2}  ] = [CO] [H_{2}O]

That means concentrations of products and reactants are equal.

Since the keq value for our reaction is very close to 1, we can say that , there are significant amounts of reactants and products at equilibrium.

Therefore option C is the correct option.

Cause and Effect What two factors does the force of gravity between two objects<br> depend on?
netineya [11]

Answer:

When dealing with the force of gravity between two objects, there are only two things that are important mass, and distance. The force of gravity depends directly upon the masses of the two objects, and inversely on the square of the distance between them.
