Thats gonna be region A.

lets check...this point is in that region (-1,3)
now we sub into our equations and see if it is true

y < = -5/2x + 4                      y > = -1/2x - 2
3 < = -5/2(-1) + 4                  3 > = -1/2(-1) - 2
3 < = 5/2 + 4                         3 > = 1/2 - 2
3 < = 5/2 + 8/2                      3 > = 1/2 - 4/2
3 < = 13/2                             3 > = - 3/2
3 < = 6 1/2...true                   3 > = - 1 1/2...true

so it is region A...100% sure

Write in slope intercept form given two points (1,2) and (-2,5)
Anvisha [2.4K]
I’m pretty sure it’s -1
How you solve this is y2-y1/x2-x1
So 5-2/-3-1 which would be -1

Answer:

Addition Property of Equality

Step-by-step explanation:

System of Equations

When two equations are given and two variables are unknown in both equations, then we can solve the system in several ways.

One method consists in adding both equations term by term and eliminate one of the variables. That property is called the addition of equalities. Let's consider the equations given in the problem:

5x+4y=-2\\2x-4y=6

If we add both equations, we have

5x+4y+2x-4y=-2+6

Simplifying

7x=4

By adding both equations we managed to eliminate the variable y and could easily find the value of x

x=4/7
