Add 21 to both sides
5x=x+7+21
Simplify x+7+21 to x +28
5x=x+28
Subtract x from both sides
5x-x=28
Simplify 5x-x to 4x
4x=28
Divide both sides by 4
x=\frac{28}{4}
Then Simplify 28/4 to 7

And your answer is x=7
