Answer:

The closest to the actual attendance is 127000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : One day, the state fair total attendance was 126,945.

To find : Round to the nearest hundred thousand, nearest ten thousand and nearest thousand. Which of these rounded amounts is the closest to the actual attendance?

Solution :

Rounding a number rule :

1) If the rounded number after place is greater than 5 then the next number round upto by 1.

2) If the rounded number after place is less than 5 then the number remain same and rest became zero.

Number 126,945

Round to the nearest hundred thousand.

At hundred thousand place there is 1 and after that there is 2<5

So, It rounded to 100000.

Round to the nearest  ten thousand.

At  ten thousand place there is 2 and after that there is 6>5

So, It rounded to 130000.

Round to the nearest thousand.

At  thousand place there is 6 and after that there is 9>5

So, It rounded to 127000.

Above all the closest to the actual attendance is 127000.

Nearest hundred thousand: 100,000

Nearest ten thousand: 130,000

Nearest thousand: 127,000

The closest rounded amount to the actual attendance is the nearest thousand, 127,000.

Twenty five percent of this square is shaded what percent of the square is not shaded
Dominik [7]

Answer:

75%

Step-by-step explanation:

If 25 percent of a square is shaded, that means that the rest of the square is not shaded. We want an answer that we can add to 25 to get 100. So this means that 75% of the square is not shaded.

(I'm so lost I need help with this question!!!)
lozanna [386]

Answer:

1. 5 cm

2. 7.07 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

According to your provided information, the area of a square is A = s^2. They also tell you that the area of the square in the picture is 25cm^2. That means that, to find the length of any side (s), you just need to plug 25 in as the area. So

25 = s^2 ... Take the square root of both sides to isolate s.

s = ±5 ... But since we're talking about length, we only take the value positive five. (Length can't be a negative value.)

Now we have the length of any side as 5 cm, and they want us to find the length of the diagonal. We can use the Pythagorean theorem, a^2 + b^2 = c^2, where c will be the diagonal we want. We can do this because we know that ANY side of this square is s = 5, so if we plug that into a^2 + b^2 = c^2, we get

5^2 + 5^2 = c^2 ... 5 times 5 is 25

25 + 25 = c^2 ... Add

50 = c^2 ... Take the square root of both sides

c = √50 ... Use a calculator

c ≈ 7.07
