Because the number is even, then the number of possible combinations will be: 110/2 = 55 let's consider a simpler example, the number: 10, then we have: 10+0, 9+1, 8+2, 7+3, 6+4, which is equal to 10/2 =5 combinations. Note: We are not considering permutations between the elements of the sum therefore 10+0, 0+10 counts as one combination.

Solution: The are total 56 pairs of whole numbers whose sum is 110.

Explanation:

The whole numbers are all positive integers including 0.

If the sum is an even number n then the pairs of whole numbers are \frac{n}{2} +1.

If the sum is an odd number n then the pairs of whole numbers are \frac{n+1}{2}.

Since 110 is an even number therefore the pairs of whole number with sum 10 are

\frac{110}{2} +1=55+1=56

And the pairs are (0,110),(1,109),...,(55,55) after that the pairs are repeated so we can't  consider those repeated pairs.

For example we have to find the pairs of whole numbers have sum of 6. So the pairs are (0,6),(1,5),(2,4),(3,3) and from the formula the number of pairs is \frac{6}{2} +1=3+1=4.

Hence, the are total 56 pairs of whole numbers whose sum is 110.

aleksley [76]

Answer: 5508

Step-by-step explanation:

all the numbers together equal 72 marbles in total.

(6x2)x (3x3)x (3x17)=

  12       9          51              first multiply the easy numbers 12x9 =108 then

108x51= 5508

Four friends ordered a pizza cut into eight slices. The whole pizza was eaten, with each friend eating a different number of sli
raketka [301]

Answer:

{0,1,3,4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, total no of slices=8.

Total no of friends=4.

also each friend didnt ate more than the other three.

let a,b,c,d be no of slices ate by the friends 1,2,3,4 respectively.

given sum of a+b+c+d=8.

now applying the second condition

a\leq b+c+d \\b\leq c+d+a\\c\leq a+b+d\\d\leq a+b+c

so each of a,b,c,d must be less than or equal to 4.

which means 5 values are possible{0,1,2,3,4}.from this set you have to select 4 values such that their sum is 8.hence, those values are {0,1,3,4}.

If f(a)=(a•a•a)-(a•a) + a-1 what is the value of f(-3)?
Elena L [17]

Answer:

-40

Step-by-step explanation:

f(a) = a³ - a² + a - 1

f(-3) = (-3)³ - (-3)² + (-3) - 1

f(-3) = (-27) - (9) + (-3) -1

f(-3) = -27 - 9 -3 - 1

f(-3) = -40
