Answer:

The correct answer would be a. respiration.

In the atmosphere, carbon is present in the form of carbon dioxide. It forms the major components of organic substances or molecules. It is majorly fixed in the ecosystem by process of photosynthesis.

The number of processes or activities help to reintroduce carbon into the atmosphere. Some of them are:

Respiration: Most of the living organisms release carbon dioxide in the atmosphere through respiration. They harnessed energy from food and release carbon dioxide as the byproduct of the process.

The burning of fossil fuels also releases a huge amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Volcanic irruptions, forests fires et cetera also release carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Hence, we can say that respiration helps in reintroducing carbon into the atmosphere.

When the neuron becomes depolarized, it means
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

The inside is becoming positive.

Explanation:

The membrane potential may be defined as the difference in the electric potential between the outside and inside of the cell. This potential difference is important for the conduction of nerve impulse.

The depolarization of the cell occur due to the movement of sodium ions inside the cell. The depolarization of the cell changes the membrane potential from -70mV to +30mV. The inside of the cell become more positive than outside of the cell.

Thus, the correct answer is option (a).

What element is necessary for the production of thyroid hormone?
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

Iodine

Explanation:

This is a trace element needed for the  synthesis of the two thyroid hormone ; T4- thyroxine and T3-triiodothyronine. Four iodine molecules are added in T4 synthesis, and  three for T3 synthesis. Generally T4 is the major hormone produced, but  biologically transformed into active form T3.

Iodine majorly and selenium are the two trace elements needed for thyroid hormones synthesis. Therefore required amount of iodine is important in daily diet. iIn adequate supply of this leads to under production of iodine called hypothyroidism. poor brain development ( especially in kids),and goiter.

Sea foods . eggs, poultry seaweeds are rich sources of iodine.

Conversely, when  excessive amount is present in the blood, autoimmune thyroid diseases can occur, including cancer developments in the thyroid gland due to hyper cell activities.
