The correct answer is 179. I will explain the steps I took to find the correct answer.

First write the problem- 5x^2+x-7, also be reminded x=6.

Second lets begin to start solving it.

6 squares equals 36 ( also known as 6×6)

Now 36*5=180. This is the first half of the problem.

Continuing to solve

180+x-7

Remember x=6 so now 180+6-7

Finally you find your answer by solving 180+-1, which is 179

First, substitute 6 in for x:
5 x 6^2 + 6 - 7
Simplify:
30^2 + 6 - 7
30^2 + 1
900 + 1
901

Hope this helps!!

The radius of the cone is 3 in and y = 5 in. What is the volume of the cone in terms of π?
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

  12π in³

Step-by-step explanation:

The right triangle formed by the radius (r), height (x), and slant height (y) is a 3-4-5 right triangle, with the dimension 4 inches being the perpendicular height from the base to the apex. That is, the Pythagorean theorem tells us ...

  r² + x² = y²

  x = √(y² -r²) = √(25 -9) = 4 . . . inches

The formula for the volume of a cone is ...

  V = (1/3)πr²h . . . . . . . . h is the height, what you call x

Your cone has r = 3 in, h = 4 in. Filling in these numbers and simplifying, we get ...

  V = (1/3)π(3 in)²(4 in) = 12π in³

The volume of the cone is 12π cubic inches.

Answer:        4x² -4

Step-by-step explanation:

First, evaluate the exponent you'll get, 3^{0}+ 4x² -5 then evaluate to get, 1+ 4x² -5. Next, subtract the numbers, 1 + 4x² -5 then to get, -4 +4x². Lastly, rearrange the terms,  -4 +4x² turns into, 4x² -4!
