Answer: The total volume of the sun is 1.4 x 10 27cubic meters. About 1.3 million Earths could fit inside the sun. The mass of the sun is 1.989 x 10 30 kilograms, about 333,000 times the mass of the Earth.

Explanation: So if you divide the volume of the Sun by the volume of the Earth, you get 1,300,000.

Fill in the blanks.
ANTONII [103]

Answer:GASEOUS, LOWERING ,EMITTED AS HEAT, DOWN,DO NOT RELEASE,DECREASES,NEGATIVE.

Explanation: Filling the blanks gives

Lattice energy is associated with forming a crystalline lattice of alternating cations and anions from the _GASEOUS___________ ions.

Because the cations are positively charged and the anions are negatively charged, there is a LOWERING of potential- as described by Coulomb's law-when the ions come together to form a lattice energy. That energy is EMITTED AS HEAT when the lattice forms.

As the ionic radii increases as you move DOWN a group, ions cannot get as close to each other and therefore DO NOT RELEASE as much energy when the lattice forms. Thus the lattice energy DECREASES (becomes less) NEGATIVE as the radius increases.

The above gives the definition of Lattice Energy and how it relates to atomic and ion charge.

If a sample of 0.150 g of kcn is treated with an excess of hcl, calculate the amount of hcn formed in grams.
blondinia [14]

The amount of Hcn formed in grams is = 0.06223 grams

calculation

write the equation for reaction

that is; KCn + HCl → KCl + HCn

step 1:find the moles of KCn reacted

moles of KCn = mass of KCn/molar mass of KCn( 65.12 g/mol)

= 0.150 g/ 65.12 g/mol =2.303 x10^-3 moles

step 2: use the mole ratio between KCn :HCn which is 1:1 to determine the moles of HCn which is also 2.303 x 10^-3 moles

step 3: find the mass of HCn =moles of HCn x molar mass of HCn

= 2.303 x10^-3 x 27. 02 =0.06223 grams
