If you don't know how long the work will actually take you to get done or if you don't prioritize the work over having fun, you might not make the deadline.

I normally leave for classes 1 hour before it starts, to give me enough time to get from point A to point B, and time to deal with traffic etc. I'd say on a professional level, almost everyone relies on their time-management skills daily. But when relaxing or going around to a movie, I don't really care as much. Hope this helps!
