7 trees + 2 trees - 9 trees  =  nothing

7 puppies + 2 puppies - 9 puppies = nothing

7 pencils + 2 pencils - 9 pencils  =  nothing

7 of anything + 2 of the same thing - 9 of them  =  nothing

7 p's  +  2 p's  -  9 p's  =  nothing

Well the answer is just 0 lol. Because they all are coefficients of p, you can just pretend the p doesn't exist for now and do 7 + 2 = 9, and then - 9. 9 - 9 = 0. Normally, you would add the p back on at the end, but if the answer is 0, you just leave it as 0.
