Answer:

T = 74.8 N

Explanation:

Given:

- The angle with the horizontal θ = 36°

- The tension in the strap T

- The amount of work done W = 908 J

- The distance travelled by the suitcase s = 15 m

Find:

what is the tension in the strap?

Solution:

- From definition we have that the work-done by a force F is given by the dot product of the force vector and the displacement vector as expressed below:

                                        W = F.s

-  The scalar form of the work done includes the component of force F along the direction of displacement as follows:

                                       W = F*s*cos(θ)

- Now we can calculate the Tension force T from the given data as follows:

                                       W = T*s*cos(θ)

                                       T = W / (s*cos(θ))

                                       T = 908 / (15*cos(36))

                                      T = 74.8 N

A 5.00 kilogram mass is traveling at 100. meters per second. Determine the speed of the mass after an impulse with a magnitude o
faltersainse [42]

m = mass = 5 kg

v_{i} = initial velocity = 100 m/s

v_{f} = final velocity = ?

I = impulse = 30 Ns

Using the impulse-change in momentum equation

I = m(v_{f} - v_{i})

30 = 5 (v_{f} - 100)

v_{f} = 106 m/s

Formula for the distance (d) is given by d = rate*time. For example if you are traveling at 60 mph for 3 hours the distance trav
babunello [35]

Explanation:

Distance covered by the particle is given by:

Distance (d) = rate (v) × time (t)

Speed of Mary, v₁ = 50 mph

Speed of Jim, v₂ = 60 mph

It is assumed that, Mary and Jim leave at the same time. After one hour, Jim is 10 miles ahead.

Distance travelled by Jim, d₁ = (60t + 10)

Distance travelled by Mary, d₂ = 50t

The distance between Mary and Jim is greater than or equal to 100 miles.

60t+10-50t\ge100

10t\ge90

t\ge9\ h

So, Jim takes is 9 hours more than Mary to cover same distance. Hence, this is the required solution.

A ball is dropped off the balcony of a hotel room and it takes 2.8s to fall to the ground . how high above the ground is the bal
RideAnS [48]

The height of the ball above the ground is 38.45 m

First we will calculate the velocity of the ball when it touch the ground by using first equation of motion

v=u+gt

v=0+9.81×2.8

v=27.468 m/s

now the height of the ground can be calculated by the formula

v=√2gh

27.468=√2×9.81×h

h=38.45 m
