(g*f)(x) just simply means g(x)*f(x)

So 3x*1/x=3x/x=3

The domain is all real numbers except x=0

Hope this helped

the membership in the pep club at the high school went from 256 to 288.What was the percent of increase.
AnnZ [28]
You subtract 256 from 288. Result is 32. Divide 256 to 32. Result is 8. 1/8 is the increase. To change it to the percent divide 100 to 8 and the answer is 12.5%.

Answer:

  • 2
  • 32
  • 27

Step-by-step explanation:

The number 2 1/4 is split into the sum 2 + 1/4, then multiplied by 3/8. This gives ...

  \displaystyle\frac{3}{8}\cdot2\frac{1}{4}=\left(\frac{3}{8}\cdot\boxed{2}\right)+\left(\frac{3}{8}\cdot\frac{1}{4}\right)\\\\=\frac{6}{8}+\frac{3}{\boxed{32}}=\frac{24}{32}+\frac{3}{32}=\frac{24+3}{32}\\\\=\frac{\boxed{27}}{32}

_____

Of course, fractions are multiplied in the usual way:

  \dfrac{a}{b}\cdot\dfrac{c}{d}=\dfrac{ac}{bd}
