sorry about your other question but here is the answer to this one

ok so her is what I think you do...

you have the equation y=3(x+1)^2+4 you use the distributive property to get rid of the prenticies so 3*x=3x and 3*1=3.

Then you have y=3x^2+3^2+4 both of the numbers have a square root because the 2 beside the parinticies so both of those are squared

then u square what you can square so it would them be y=3x^2+9+4 because you can't square a variable and a number  it stays the same but because 3^2 can be squared is become 3*3 which equals 9

Then u combine the like terms you have making it y=3x^2+13 because of 9+4=14

then it says that y=x^2        so you put x^2=3x^2+13

after that you subtract -3x^2 from both sides making it -2x^2=13 because +x^2-3^2=-2x^2 and 3x^2-3x^2=0 so that goes away and you keep the +13

that is when you would divide by -2 on both sides making it -x^2=-13/2 which also equals -6.5(we will be using the decimal soon) because -2^2 divided by -2=-x^2 and 13 divided by -2 is -6.5

then u would find the square root of that by-{equation:\/(-x^2)=\/(-6.5)} -->\/(-x^2) which equals x because we don't know what x is it turns into jus x then as we move on =\/(-6.5)  which when you use a calculator it equals 2.54950976 but I would just round to the nearest hundreths making it 2.55 and that would be your answer

PLS , help me asap :(( , im so frustrated , idk how to do these :c
kolezko [41]

Answer:

y intercept = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

In analytic geometry, using the common convention that the horizontal axis represents a variable x and the vertical axis represents a variable y, a y-intercept or vertical intercept is a point where the graph of a function or relation intersects the y-axis of the coordinate system. As such, these points satisfy x = 0.

Which step is the same in the construction of parallel lines and the construction of a perpendicular line through a point on the
madam [21]

Answer:

D.Place the compass on a point on the original line.

Complete Question:

A.Create only one arc that intersects the original line.

B.Create two arcs that intersect the original line.

C.Place the compass on a point off the original line.

D.Place the compass on a point on the original line.

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets revise the steps of constructing parallel lines and a perpendicular line through a point on the line

<em># Contracting parallel lines</em>

- Given: Line AB and point P not on AB

1. Draw a slant line through point P and intersects AB at point C, this line is the transversal of the parallel lines

2.<u> Place the pin of the compass at point C</u> and draw an arc intersects AB at D and CP at E

3. Without changing the distance of the compass put the pin of the compass on point P and draw an arc intersects CP at point Q

4. Use the compass to measure the distance from D to E and place the pin of the compass at point Q and draw an arc intersects the arc from P to CP at point U

5. Join P and U by a line this line is parallel to AB

<em># Constructing a perpendicular line through a point on the line</em>

- Given line AB and point P lies on it

1. <u>Place your compass pin at P </u>and draw an arc of any size below AB that crosses the line twice at points C and D

2. Stretch the compass to a larger distance

3.<u> </u>Place the compass pin on point C<u> </u>and draw a small arc above the line

4. Without changing the distance of the compass place the compass pin on point D and draw another arc intersects the arc from C at point E

5. Using a straightedge, join P and E where PE is perpendicular to AB

*<em> Lets find the same steps in the constructions</em>

∵ In first construction we put the pin of the compass at point C which  lies in the original line AB

∵ In second construction we put the pin of the compass at point P which lies in the original line AB

∴ The common step is:  <em><u>"Place the compass on a point on the original line"</u></em>
