First, you have to split the figure into three shapes, two squares and 1/4 of a circle

Now find the area of the two square
A = lw
A= (10)(10)
A= 100

Now that you have the area measurement for both squares you need to find the measurement of the 1/4 of the circle.

A = \pi r^{2}
A = (3.14)(10) ^{2}
A = (3.14)(100)
A= 314

But that measurement is for the whole circle so you have to divide it by four
A = 314/4
A = 78.5
Now that you have the measurements for all three shapes of the figure you can add them up to get the entire areas of the figure
A = 78.5 + 100 + 100A = 278.5
So the area for the figure is 278.5 square mm
The answer is D

5x + 3y = - 53

the equation of a line in ' slope- intercept form ' is y = mx + c

where m is the slope and c the y-intercept

rearrange 3x - 5y = - 15 into this form to obtain m → (subtract 3x from both sides)

- 5y = - 3x - 15 → divide all terms by - 5 )

y = \frac{3}{5} x + 3 → in slope-intercept form with m = \frac{3}{5}

given a line with slope m then the slope m₁ of a line perpendicular to it is

m₁ = - \frac{1}{m} = - 1 ÷ \frac{3}{5} = - \frac{5}{3}

partial equation is y = - \frac{5}{3} x + c

to find c substitute ( - 7, - 6) into the partial equation

- 6 = \frac{35}{3} + c ⇒ c = - 6 - \frac{35}{3} = - \frac{53}{3}

y = - \frac{5}{3} x - \frac{53}{3} → in slope intercept form

multiply all terms by 3

3y = - 5x - 53 → ( add 5x to both sides )

5x + 3y = - 53 → in standard form

A tree is 117 inches tall. How tall is it in feet and inches?<br> ?
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

9 ft and 9 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

there are 12 inches in a foot

1ft = 12in

2ft = 24 in

3ft = 36 in

4ft = 48

and so on

9 ft = 108 inches which is the closes to 117.

So we have 9 ft

subtract 117 from 108, which is 9 inches left over

A ticket printer made 450 tickets in 9 minutes. Another ticket printer made tickets for 5 minutes at twice the rate of the first
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

500

Step-by-step explanation:

Rate at which first ticket printer works is 450/9 = 50 tickets per minute

Speed of second ticket printer is twice than that of the first.

So, speed of second printer is 100 tickets per minute.

In 5 minutes,second printer made 500 tickets
