2-methyl-3-hexyn-2-ol can be prepared from Acetylene by treating Acetylene with NaNH₂ followed by CH₃CH₂Br, then treating the intermediate with NaNH₂ followed by acetone and then doing aqueous workup. NaNH₂ acts as base and abstracts proton from acetylene as the terminal alkynes are acidic in nature. While acetone on reduction gives tertiary alcohol.

How is the orbital configuration of neutral atoms related to the atoms chemical properties
timama [110]

Answer:

Explanation:

Chemical properties of atoms relies solely on the number of electrons they contain, more particularly, the valence or outermost electrons in the orbit round the nucleus of an atom.

A neutral atom is one that has not gained or lost electron or even shared electrons with any other atom.

On close examination of how electrons are distributed in the orbits of an atom, we can know if an atom will gain or lose electrons in a reaction. This is very important in determining the chemical properties of an atom.

Identify the change in state that does NOT have an increase in entropy. Identify the change in state that does NOT have an incre
Lena [83]

Answer:

condensing water

Explanation:

Entropy refers to the level of disorderliness in a system. The entropy of liquids is greater than that of solids. The entropy of gases is greater than that of liquids.

A process of physical change involving a change of state from solid to liquid or liquid to gas is accompanied by increase in entropy.

However, a change of state involving a change from liquid to solid or gas to liquid is accompanied by decrease in entropy.

Hence, steam condensing to water leads to decrease and not increase in entropy of the system.

The phase of matter where particles at extremely high temperatures become ionized.
lesantik [10]
Plasma is the phase of matter where particles at extremely high temperatures became ionized. The phase of matter is the composition of matter which depends on temperature. Plasma is the hot ionized gas consisting of approximately equal numbers of positively charge ions and negatively charged electrons.
