<h3><u>Answer:</u></h3>

Hence, the third term of the sequence is:

4

<h3><u>Step-by-step explanation:</u></h3>

We are given a recursive formula as:

a_n=\dfrac{2+a_{n-1}}{2}

We are given first term of the sequence as:

a_1=10

Now, we are asked to find the third term of the sequence.

i.e. a_3

Now, using recursive formula we have:

a_2=\dfrac{2+a_1}{2}\\\\a_2=\dfrac{2+10}{2}\\\\a_2=\dfrac{12}{2}\\\\a_2=6

Similarly,

a_3=\dfrac{2+a_2}{2}]\\\\a_3=\dfrac{2+6}{2}\\\\a_3=\dfrac{8}{2}\\\\a_3=4

Hence, the third term of the sequence is:

4

Is the least common multiple of a pair of numbers ever less than both numbers
nadezda [96]

well It never could be less than both numbers. the LCM of 2 numbers shd either be greater than the 2 numbers .... or the answer should be equal to either one of the numbers ...

lets see some examples to prove this conclusion:

now, lets find the LCM of 2 and 6 ... so if we do it ... we get the answer 6 .. which is ..as we said equal to one of the numbers

another example : 5 and 7 ... in this ... if we do it .. .we get the LCM as 37 ... which is greater than both the numbers

another case where both the numbers are same ....

where we need to find the LCM of 7 and 7 ... the answer will be 7 itself .....

Gloria earns 1.5 times her normal hourly pay for each hour that she works over 40 hours in a week. Her normal pay is $9.70 per h
ivann1987 [24]
"for each hour that she works over 40hrs in a week" key words "for each hour" in that section of the sentence. so we take 489.85 divide that by 9.7 = 50 and then we divide 489.85 by 5 so that we can get 1/5 of 50, then we take 9.7 times 1.5 = 14.55 and divide that by 97.97

489.85/5 = 97.97/14.55 = 6.73 + 40hrs = 46.73hrs

Not sure why it's a decimal.. but I'm 100% sure that's how you solve it
