What expression represents the sum of 8 and twice a number

Mathematics

Idk if you have any choices or not but it should look like 8 + 2x
How to get the answer: sum means addition, and twice a number is 2 times it. We don't know the number so we'll use x. Two times a number is 2x
And since we are adding we will put an addition sign
8 + 2x

Suppose that 20% of adults belong to health clubs, and 51% of these health club members go to the club at least twice a week. Wh
Westkost [7]

Answer:

10.2% of adults will belong to health clubs and will go to the club at least twice a week

Step-by-step explanation:

assuming that the event H=an adult belongs to a health  club  and the event T= he/she goes at least twice a week , then if both are independent of each other:

P(T∩H)= P(H)*P(T)  ( probability of the union of independent events → multiplication rule )

replacing values

P(T∩H)= P(H)*P(T) = 0.20 * 0.51 =0.102

then  10.2% of adults will belong to health clubs and will go to the club at least twice a week

If the angle NME = x+97, the angle EML = x+66, and the angle NML = 141, find the angle EML
defon

Answer:

∠ EML = 94°

Step-by-step explanation:

See the attached diagram.

The three angles ∠ NME, ∠ EML and ∠ NML together make 360°.

Now, ∠ NME = x + 97, ∠ EML = x + 66 and ∠ NML = 141°

Hence, (x + 97) + ( x + 66) + 141 = 360

⇒ 2x + 304 = 360

⇒ 2x = 56

⇒ x = 28

So, ∠ EML = x + 66 = 28 + 66 = 94° (Answer)

Wilma and Fred rode their bikes toward each other from points on a straight road 32 miles apart. If Fred rode 3 miles per hour f
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

wilma is 22.5 mph

fred is 25.5 mph

Step-by-step explanation:

Time:40 minutes, or 2/3 hours

Speed:

Fred:x+3

Wilma: x

Distance:32 miles

2/3(x+x+3)=32

2/3(2x+3)=32

1 1/3x+2=32

4/3x=30

x=22.5

wilma is 22.5 mph

fred is 22.5+3= 25.5 mph

Which equation(s) represents a proportional relationship? A) y = 5+x B) y = 4x C) y = 7x? D) y = 2-x
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

B & C

Step-by-step explanation:

A proportional relationship has a proportionality constant (constant rate of change) and and must cross through the origin (or begin at (0,0). This means it's y-intercept is 0. Each of the options is a linear function. All of the functions have a constant rate of change. Only one as b=0 or 0 as the y-intercept.

B) y=4x has a constant of 4 and passes through the origin.

C) y=7x has a constant of 7 and passes through the origin.
