PLEASE HELP!!!!
Tom [10]

Answer:

The fare ride was 11 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

So it says that for the first mile the taxi charged $4.00 okay? so then it says for each additional mile he charges $1.25 so what i did was add the $4.00 and then kept on adding $1.25. so $4.00 plus $1.25 equals $5.25 so continue adding $1.25 till you get to exactly $16.50.. Count up exactly how many           "$1.25's" it took to get to $16.50 so it would be exactly 10 times you had to add $1.25 to it and we cant forget the first mile which was $4.00 so thats an additional mile so then it would 11 miles !

anyanavicka [17]

This is a combination problem.

The formula is n! / (r!(n-r)!

where n is the total number of people and r is the number of people to be picked.

n = 15, r = 4

15! / (4!(15-4)!)

15! / (4!*11!)

Total combinations = 1,365

How many 2X4 foot tiles are needed for 48 square feet?
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

The number of  (2 X 4 ) foot tiles  needed for 48 square feet is 6.

Step-by-step explanation:

The dimensions of the small tiles =  2 ft x 4 ft

Area that needed to be covered by tiles = 48 sq feet

Now, Area of 1 tile  = LENGTH X WIDTH

                                 = 2 ft x 4 ft = 8 sq ft

Now, \textrm{Total  number of tiles required to cover the area}  = \frac{\textrm{Total Area that needs to be covered}}{\textrm{Area of each tile}}

= \frac{48 sqft}{8sqft}   = 6

or, Number of tiles required = 6

Hence, the number of  (2 X 4 ) foot tiles  needed for 48 square feet is 6.
