A fish tank, in the shape of a rectangular prism with dimensions 70 centimeters by 44 centimeters by 38 centimeters, is 95% fill

ed with water. A solid log is placed into the tank, sinks to the bottom, and makes water spill out. The log is shaped like a cylinder with a radius of 6 cm and a height of 57 centimeters.

Answer:

Volume of water which spills out of the tank = 591.28 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

The dimensions of the rectangular prism shaped fish tank = 70 cm by 44 cm by 38 cm

Volume of the fish tank = 70 × 44 × 38

⇒ Volume of the fish tank = 117040 cm³

Now, The tank is 95% filled

So, The part of the fish tank which is empty = 5% of 117040

⇒ The part of the fish tank which is empty = 0.05 × 117040

⇒ The part of the fish tank which is empty = 5852 cm³

Volume of the cylinder shape wooden log = π × radius² × height

⇒ Volume of the cylinder shape wooden log = 3.14 × 36 × 57

⇒ Volume of the cylinder shape wooden log = 6443.28 cm³

So, Volume of water which spills out of the tank = Volume of the cylindrical log - Volume left to be filled

⇒ Volume of water which spills out of the tank = 6443.28 - 5852

                                                                                 = 591.28 cm³

what is the volume of the rectangular prisms with a length of 1 5/8, a width of 3/8, and a height of 3in
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

To find the volume of a cube one must multiply all three dimensions together. Here we know two of the dimensions and the volume but not the third dimension. First I multipl together to two known dimensions: 3/4 x 1/2 = 3/8. Next I divide the volume by this answer by using the reciprocal of 3/8 and multipling. 21/32 x 8/3 = 7/4 by cancelling the 32 with the 8 and the 21 with the 3. Now 7/4 must be changed into a mixed number. Divide the numerator by the denominator and write the remainder as a fraction. 7/4 = 1 3/4.

If 15% of an item is $18.00 what was the original price?
larisa [96]
from the whole price,
15% of this price is equal to $18.00.
therefore if 15 % equals $18.00

then 100% is the original price therefore 100 % = 18.00 / 15 % x 100% = $120 therefore original price = $120
