Let 100% be 10 units

4u --> boys
6u --> girls

60% of 6u walk home. therefore,
\frac{60}{100}  \times 6 = 3 \frac{3}{5}
50% of 4u walk home. therefore,
\frac{1}{2}  \times 4 = 2
hence, 2u (boys who walk home) + 3.6u (girls who walk home) = 5.6u

to find percentage,
\frac{5.6}{10}  \times 100 = 55.99999
rounding up, it'll be 56% of the students

The Budget Car Rental rates for renting a car for a day is shown in the table.
mezya [45]

▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪  {\huge\mathfrak{Answer}}▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪

According to given information,

a.) Initial cost of renting car (y - intercept (b)) = the total cost when the distance travelled = 0

that is :

  • blank - 1 : $ 100

b.) rate of change = slope

  • \dfrac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1}

  • \dfrac{105 - 100}{100 - 0}

  • \dfrac{5}{100}

  • \dfrac{1}{20}

  • blank - 2 : \dfrac{1}{20}

c.) Let's

  • y = mx + c

and according to above data :

  • y = C

  • x = d

  • m = 1/20

  • c = 100

so, the required equation is :

  • c =  \dfrac{1}{20} d + 100

put this equation in blank - 3 ~

Which if the following is the equation of a line that passes through the points (2,5) and (4,3)
Taya2010 [7]
Hi there!

First, let's find the slope of the two points using the slope formula (y2 - y1 / x2 - x1).

S = 4 - 2 / 3 - 5
S = 2 / -2
S = -1

Next, we'll plug in the slope and a point into point-slope form (y - y1 = s(x - x1)) in order to find an equation. I will show the work using both points, which will result in two different equations.

(2,5)
y - 5 = -1(x - 2)
y - 5 = -x + 2
y = -x + 7

(4,3)
y - 3 = -1(x - 4)
y - 3 = -x + 4
y = -x + 7

The two equations came out the same! Which is completely okay, and happens sometimes.

Hope this helps!! :)
