Answer:

ZA = 3cm

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all we are going to find the length of YA. Since the triangle YAD is a right triangle we simple use the Pythagorean theorem. Which state the the square of the  length of  the hypotenuse (the side oposite to the right angle )is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. This is:

c^{2}=a^{2} + b^{2}

where c is the  hypotenuse.

With this we can find the length of YA as follows:

5^{2} = 4^{2}+\bar{YA}^{2}

5^{2} -4^{2}=\bar{YA}^{2}

\bar{YA}^{2}=9

\bar{YA}=3

Thus, \bar{YA} = 3cm

Now using YA length and sine function for the right triangle,

sin(\theta)= \dfrac{oposite side}{hypotenuse},

if we set \theta to be the angle YFA this leads us to

sin (\angle{YFA{) =\dfrac{3}{6}

\angle{YFA}=arcsin(\dfrac{3}{6})

\angle{YFA} =30°

So, the angle YFA is iqual to 30°.

Since FA is separating the angle YFZ, the angle YFA is iqual to the angle AFZ (this is because point A  is the point of concurrency of the angle bisectors of ΔDEF)

If we call the sine function using the angle AFZ, we get :

sin(\angle{AFZ}) =\dfrac{\bar{ZA}}{6}

\bar{ZA} = 6 sin(\angle{AFZ})

\bar{ZA} = 6 sin(30°)

\bar{ZA} =3

So, length of ZA is 3 cm.

Write the formula to calculate how much dough is prepared in x hours.
spin [16.1K]

Answer: D(x) = 2kg/h*x

where x is the number of hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

The information that we have is:

in 5 hours, we can prepare 10kg of dough.

With this, we can find the rate per hour, to do this we find the quotient:

R = 10kg/5h = 2kh/h

This meeans that in one hour, we can make 2kg of dough.

Then, in x hours, we can make x times 2kg of dough, then the equation will be:

D(x) = 2kg/h*x

where x is the number of hours.

Maria is purchasing sandwiches for her team at work. Each sandwich costs $6.25 and there is a delivery fee of $15.00, all taxes
Oduvanchick [21]

Answer:

The maximum number of sandwiches she can buy is 24.

Step-by-step explanation:

We can create a function to represent the cost of her team's lunch in function of the number of people in the team. We have:

cost(x) = 15 + 6.25*x

Since she needs to stay on budget, the cost has to be less or equal to 170, therefore:

cost(x) \leq 170\\15 + 6.25*x \leq 170\\6.25*x \leq 170 - 15\\x \leq \frac{155}{6.25}\\x \leq 24.8

Since she can't buy 0.8 sandwiches, the maximum number of sandwiches she can buy is 24.

Awarding road contracts. A state Department of Transportation (DOT) recently claimed that each of five bidders received equal co
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

a) Hence, the probability of this event occurring if, in fact, the DOT's claim is true

= 3/10 = 0.3

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The concept applied here is combinatorics ; nCr = n!/(n - r)!r!

we are told that out of 5bidders, Three of the bidders were large construction conglomerates

and two were small specialty contractors.

selecting two recipients with tree of the bidders were large construction conglomerates 3C2

= 3!/(3-2)!2!

= 3

Similarly, selecting the two small casualty contractor from the total of 5bidders = 5C2

= 5!/(5-2)!2!

= 10

Hence, the probability of this event occurring if, in fact, the DOT's claim is true

= 3/10 = 0.3

b) if DOTs claim is not true ( probability of failure) = 1 - 0.3

= 0.7 , this value implies that the probability 0.3 is largely compatible and a compliment of the 0.7 and as such it is consistent with the DOTs claim that the selection was random.
