There are 12 months in a year and each year it decreases 6% so therefore each month it decreases .5%.

If you were asking the the amount it depreciates each month then you take .5% or .005 of 12000 which is 60 dollars a month.

Hey there!

The first thing you need to do is convert your percentage into a decimal. You can do this by dividing your percentage by 100 to give you 0.06. Now, you can use this decimal to solve for your answer.

Start by multiplying your initial amount ($12,000) by 0.06 (the rate of decreased value) to find how much money the motorcycle decreases each year.

12000 × 0.06 = 720

The value of the motorcycle goes down by $720 each year. This means that every month, your motorcycle decreases $60 in value.

You can divide 60 by 12,000 to find the rate per month. This will give you 0.005, which you can multiply by 100 to give you a rate of 0.5% each month.

Hope this helped you out! :-)

Because of the rainy season, the depth in a pond increases 3% each week. Before the rainy season started, the pond was 10 feet d
Dafna11 [192]

It's not perfectly clear, but you seem to be saying that each week, the
pond becomes 3% deeper than it was THE PREVIOUS WEEK.

If I'm reading that correctly, then the pond is 10-ft deep when the rainy
season begins, and after 'x' weeks later, the depth is

                     D = 10 (1.03)^x            feet.

After 8 weeks, the depth is        D = 10 (1.03)⁸  =  12.67 feet .

rounded to the nearest foot,  D = 13 ft.

Line segment ABCD is split into unequal segments by points A, B, C, and D. The length of segment AD is 28 cm, and the distance b
Oksana_A [137]

Answer:

4 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The midpoint segment has length ...

... L = AB/2 + BC + CD/2 = 16 cm

The entire segment has length ...

... AD = AB + BC + CD = 28 cm

If we subtract AD from 2L, we have ...

... 2L - AD - 2L = 2(AB/2 +BC + CD/2) - (AB +BC +CD) = 2(16 cm) -28 cm = 4 cm

... AB +2BC + CD -AB -BC -CD = 4 cm . . . . remove parentheses

... BC = 4 cm . . . . simplify
