\text {Fruit cake = } \dfrac{1}{4}

\text {Raisin left = } 1 -  \dfrac{1}{4} = \dfrac{4}{4} - \dfrac{1}{4} = \dfrac{3}{4}

\text {Muffins  = } \dfrac{1}{9}  \times  \dfrac{3}{4} =  \dfrac{3}{36} =  \dfrac{1}{12}

\text {Raisin left = } \dfrac{3}{4}  - \dfrac{1}{12} =\dfrac{9}{12}  - \dfrac{1}{12} = \dfrac{8}{12}  -= \dfrac{2}{3}

Answer: She has 2/3 of the package left.

Find a common denominator between 1/4 and 1/9. The common denominator is 36. Multiply 1/4, 1 and 4, by 9. You get 9/36. Multiply 1/9, 1 and 9, by 4. You get 4/36. Add the two answers together.
9/36 + 4/36 = 13/36
Now subtract 36 by 13 to get 23. You get 23/36. This is the most simplified form.
Ashley has 23/36 package of raisin left.

Ray Of Light [21]

We have that El Paso is 320 miles from Tucson and 720 miles from San Diego.

You're travelling from Tucson to San Diego.

First we have to find the distance from Tucson to San Diego. We can do this by finding the difference between the distance of Tucson from San Diego and El Paso from San Diego.

That is:

720−320

400 miles

You leave by 6:00 am.

You drive for 75 miles per hour in 4 hours for the first part of the journey.

You then drive for 50 miles per hour for the rest of the journey.

The first step is to find the distance that the rest of the journey took. We can do that by first finding the distance covered in the first part of the journey and subtracting that from the total distance (400 miles).

To find the distance for the first part of the journey, we apply the formula for speed (rate of change of distance with time):

s = d/t

⇒d = s⋅t

where d= distance; t = time

Therefore:

d=75⋅4

d=300 miles

The first part of the journey covered 300 miles. This means that the rest of the journey covered:

400 - 300 = 100 miles

Now, to find the time the rest of the journey took, we have to apply the same formula for speed:

s=d/t

t=d/s

Therefore:

t=100/50

t=2 hrs

To find the total time it took to complete the journey, we have to add the times for the first part and the rest of the journey.

That is:

T=4+2

T=6 hours

Since you left home by 6:00 am, the time you will get to San Diego is 6 hours after that, i.e. 12 noon (Tucson time)

That is the answer.

Factor 8X squared + 10x + 2
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

2(4x + 1)(x + 1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

8x² + 10x + 2 ← factor out 2 from each term

= 2(4x² + 5x + 1)

To factor the quadratic

Consider the factors of the product of the coefficient of the x² term and the constant term which sum to give the coefficient of the x- term

product = 4 × 1 = 4 and sum = + 5

The factors are + 1 and + 4

Use these factors to split the x - term

4x² + x + 4x + 1 ( factor the first/second and third/fourth terms )

= x(4x + 1) + 1 (4x + 1) ← factor out (4x + 1)

= (4x + 1)(x + 1), thus

4x² + 5x + 1 = (4x + 1)(x + 1) and

8x² + 10x + 2 = 2(4x + 1)(x + 1) ← in factored form

Replace m with each number in the given set and solve for d(m)

m = 0

d(m) = 7-2(0) = 7-0 = 7

m=1

d(m) =7-2(1) = 7-2 = 5

m = 2

d(m) = 7-2(2) = 7-4 = 3

m=3

d(m) = 7-2(3) = 7-6 = 1

The answers in order from smallest to largest are 1, 3, 5,7

The correct answer would be F.
