Ocean waves observed to travel along the water surface during a developing storm. A coast guard weather station observes that th

ere is a vertical distance from high point to low point of 4.6 meters and a horizontal distance of 8.6 meters between adjacent crests. The waves splash into the station once every 6.2 seconds. What two factors determine the speed of the wave

The horizontal distance represents wavelength λ. The time represents the period of the wave T.

Wave speed is given by v= λ/T

Hence, those are the only parameters needed.

Note: the vertical distance is for calculating amplitude which is not used in calculating wave speed.

Aliyah marks a line on her driveway with a piece of chalk and another line 50ft away Then she stands with both feet at the line
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

Speed

Explanation:

Aliyah must have been trying to find her speed.

The speed is a measure of how fast an object or a body is and it is calculated by finding the ratio of distance with time. Mathematically,

 speed = \frac{distance}{time} with a unit of m/s.

Hence, with the distance measured on the ground and Aliyah trying to find the time it will take her to cover the distance while running, she must have been trying to find how fast she can run, that is, speed.
