Let x = the number of hot dogs sold at $1.25 each
<span>Let y = the number of hamburger sold at $1.50 each </span>

<span>Total sales count: x + y = 78 </span>
<span>Total sales $: 1.25x + 1.50y = 105.50 </span>

<span>Solve for x and y using any method you wish </span>

<span>I get x = 46 and y = 32

Total hot dogs = 46
&
Total hamburgers = 32</span>

What is the slope of the line that passes through (-4, 5) and (2, -3)?
vagabundo [1.1K]

Slope <em>m</em> has a form of,

m=\dfrac{\Delta{y}}{\Delta{x}}=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

We have points <em>A</em> and <em>B</em>,

A(x_1,y_1),B(x_2,y_2)\longrightarrow A(-4,5),B(2,-3)

Now insert the values in the slope formula,

m=\dfrac{-3-5}{2-(-4)}=\dfrac{-8}{6}=\boxed{-\dfrac{4}{3}}

The answer is A.

Hope this helps.

What is the length of segment BD
lisabon 2012 [21]

Answer:  The length of BD is 2.4

Step-by-step explanation:  BD is a leg of a right triangle, so use the

Pythagorean Theorem  a² + b² = c²

BC is the hypotenuse here, so that is c = 3

We can use the segment CD as side b = 1.8

We will call BD side a, and solve to find that length.

a² + (1.8)² = 3²   Square the known values of b and c

 a² + 3.24 = 9     Subtract 3.24 from both sides.

a² = 9 - 3.24     Simplify

a²  =  5.76          Find the square root of both sides (Calculator time!)

a = 2.4
