Hi there! The answer is A.

In which step was the error made and why? The answer was in:
A.) Step 1, because incorrect signs have been used.

In the first step the parenthesis are worked out incorrectly. When we work out the parenthesis in a function we can for instance use the rainbow method. We mustn't forget the sign that is used in front of the parenthesis.

In this particular situation the sign in front of the parenthesis is − . This means we multiply a negative (outside the parenthesis) with a positive (inside the parenthesis) and therefore end up with a negative.

When the perenthesis had been worked out correctly, we would get the following.
2x - \frac{1}{4} (12x + 4) = 3

Rainbow method
2x - \frac{1}{4} \times 12x - \frac{1}{2} \times 4 = 3

Multiply
2x - 3x - 1 = 3

Collect terms
- x - 1= 3

Add 1 to both sides.
- x = 4

Divide by -1.
x = - 4

In short: the answer is A.

Hi there!
The answer is [ A. ]

EXPLANATION :-

[ A. ] - Incorrect signs have been used.

We must remember th' rules of multiplication while doing calculations.
Here, th' Parenthesis are work'd out incorrectly.

Now,

Let's look at th' correct answer. If th' Parenthesis worked out Correctly :-

2x - \dfrac {1}{4} (12x + 4) = 3

=> 2x - (\dfrac {12x}{4} + \dfrac {4}{4}) = 3

=> 2x - (3x + 1) = 3

=> 2x - 3x - 1 = 3

=> - x = 3 + 1

=> - x = 4

Dividin' by -1 :-

=> x = - 4

~ Hope it helps!

Which statement about the angle measures is true?
sattari [20]

Answer:

Option (4)

Step-by-step explanation:

By the property of exterior angle of a triangle,

"Exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of two opposite interior angles."

In the triangle ABC,

∠ACD is an exterior angle and ∠BAC and ∠ABC are the opposite interior angles.

m∠ACD = m∠BAC + m∠ABC

95° = m∠BAC + m∠ABC

Therefore, Option (4) will be the correct option.

Value of t? 1.4t — 0.4 (t — 3.1) = 5.8
IceJOKER [234]

Hi!

<h3>Use the distribution property</h3>

1.4t — 0.4 * t - 0.4 * —3.1 = 5.8

1.4t — 0.4t - 1.24 = 5.8

<h3>Simplify</h3>

1t - 1.24 = 5.8

<h3>Add 1.24 to both sides</h3>

1t - 1.24 + 1.24 = 5.8 + 1.24

1t = 7.04

<u>t = 7.04</u>

<h2>The answer is t = 7.04</h2>

Hope this helps! :)
