Answer: 2

Explanation:

The average rate of change is the net change of the function, i.e. final value less initial value, divided by the interval:

                                                             f(b) - f(a)       f(1) - (f(-3)
average change rate from a to b = ---------------- = ---------------
                                                                 b - a             1 - (-3)

f(1) = -(1/2) (1 + 2)² + 5 = -(1/2) (3)² + 5 = 5 - 9/2 = 1/2

f(-3) = -(1/2) ( -3 + 2)² + 5 = -(1/2) (-1)² + 5 = 5 - 1/2 = 9/2

                                         (1/2) - (9/2)
average change rate = -------------------- =  2
                                             1 - 3
That is the answer.

Triangle abc has angle measures as shown What is the value of x? Show your work.
VikaD [51]

Answer:

x=31

<c = 93

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of the angles of a triangle is 180 degrees

<a +<b + <c = 180

35+ 52+3(x+2) = 180

Combine like terms

87+3(x+2) = 180

Subtract 87 from each side

87-87 +3(x+2) = 180-87

3(x+2) =93

Divide each side by 3

3(x+2)/3 = 93/3

x+2 = 31

Subtract 2 from each side

x+2-2 = 31-2

x = 29

Substitute x into the expression for angle c

<c = 3(x+2)

    =3(29+2)

   = 3(31)

  =93

Find x. Round your answer to the nearest integer.
vivado [14]

Answer:

B. 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Cos a = b/c

Cos 53° = b/25

b = 25 × 0,6 = 15

x = √(25² - 15²)

x = √(625 - 225)

x = √400

x = 20

A local art studio offers a new session of drawing classes every 12 days. A competing art studio offers a new session of drawing
Artist 52 [7]
To solve this we are going to find the least common multiple of 8 and 12.
Remember that the least common multiple (LCM) of tow or more numbers is the smallest positive number that is multiple of those two or more numbers.
To find our LCM we are going to list the multiples of 8 and 12, and then, we are going to select the first common number in those lists:

Multiples of 8: 8,16,24,32,40,....
Multiples of 12: 12,24,36,48,...

Notice that the first common value between the two list is 24, and that is precisely the number of days it will take for drawing sessions to coincide.

We can conclude that after 24 days both art studios will start a new drawing session on the same day.
