The answer is 90, there is 10 millimeters in 1 centimeter! So, if there is 9 centimeters, there will then be 90 millimeters!

Ps: I had my question up but someone reported it since I added a picture that would help you! :(

Hope this does help though! You can always do the jumping trick with meters! That's how I learned :)

Why do some numerical expressions contain parentheses
Elden [556K]

The most basic and common reason to use parentheses, brackets, and braces is to control the order of operations.

<h3>What are parentheses?</h3>

In mathematics, parenthesis is used to arrange numbers in the sequence of operations, clarify numbers, and denote multiplication.

Suppose you have an expression as:-

E = { ( 5-2 )8} 6

In this case, you would calculate 5 minus 2 first (parentheses), then multiply by 8 (brackets), then complete the part inside the curly braces, and finally multiply by 6.

Therefore the most basic and common reason to use parentheses, brackets, and braces is to control the order of operations.

Solve for v -7 v+3 = -63
denis23 [38]

Answer:

v = 66/7

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Write equation

-7v + 3 = -63

Step 2: Solve for <em>v</em>

<u>Subtract 3 on both sides:</u> -7v = -66

<u>Divide both sides by -7:</u> v = 66/7

Step 3: Check

<em>Plug in x to verify if it's a solution.</em>

-7(66/7) + 3 = -63

-66 + 3 = -63

-63 = -63

2. An online bookstore sells both print books and e-books (books in an electronic format). Customers can pay with either a gift
Fudgin [204]

Answer:

a.0.12

b. Dependent

Step-by-step explanation:

a. The two events mentioned here are " print book is purchases" and "customer using gift card". P(P)=0.6 and P(C)=0.2. we have to calculate the probability of print book selection for purchase and payment is made through gift card i.e. P(P∩C). P(P∩C)=P(P)*P(C)=0.6*0.2=0.12.

b. If P(A∩B)=P(A)*P(B), then the two events are independent. Here in the given situation two independent variables are "purchase of e-book" and  "payment made using gift card"

P(E)=0.4

P(G)=0.2

P(E and G)=P(E∩G)=0.1

P(E)*P(G)=0.4*0.2=0.08 that is not equal to 0.1. So, the two events "e-book is purchased" and "Payment made by customer using gift card" are not independent.
