Let’s separate the figure into 2 parts to answer the question easier.
If we seperate he figure into 2 reasonable shapes, we get a rectangle with a width of 8 and a length of 20 and another shape with a width of 4 and a length of 5.

All we need to do to solve this question is to find the areas of both and add them together.
Let’s use the equation wl=a or width*length=area, and insert the known values for the first shape.
8*20=160
Now repeat for the second shape.
4*5=20
Finally, add the two together to get he total area.
160+20=180
The shape has an area of 180 square inches.
Hope this helps!

Without solving, explain how you can tell whether the solution to 0.5x = 10 is less than 1 or greater than 1
NemiM [27]

Greater than 1 because left side is a fraction less than 1 and right side is a number greater than 1.

The left side being a fraction less than 1 could only mean that you have to multiply a number greater than 1 to the other side. And since the other side is a number greater already than 1 then multiplying the left side to the right side must result in a number greater than 1.

Find a polynomial function of degree 4 with − 2 as a zero of multiplicity 3 and 0 as a zero of multiplicity 1.
MArishka [77]
Degree 4 means you'll have x^4 as your leading term. Multiplicity of 3 means you have the same factor 3 times. So if x = -2, then (x + 2) = 0, so (x + 2) is used 3 times. FOIL that out 3 times and you get x^3 + 6x^2 + 12x + 8. Now multiply by (x + 0) to get a 4th degree polynomial of x^4 + 6x^3 + 12x^2 + 8x. There!
