You add +1/8 to 1/4 and you get x. X= 3/8 or 0.375. Hope this helped!

X-1/8=1/4
Add 1/8 for both side
x-1/8+1/8=1/4+1/8
x=1/4+1/8
However, we had the challenge because we can not add 1/4 with 1/8, so to do this, I need to find the common denominator, which is 8 so I change 1/4 to 2/8 by take 1×2/4×2=2/8, and we don't need to fo anything with 1/8.
x=2/8+1/8
x=3/8. Hope it help!

framing in equation form we get;

Also We can say that;

framing in equation form we get;

Total number of flash cards made by Josh = 6x

Now to find the number of minutes when both would have same number of flash cards we will make both the equation equal.

so we get;

5+5x=6x

On solving we get;

Combining like terms we get;

To find the number of flash cards each would had at that time we will substitute value of x=5 in the system of equations.

so we get;
