4.5 meters because
length*width=area or area/length=width
24÷5\frac{1}{3}
=24÷16/3
=\frac{24}{1}×\frac{3}{16}
=\frac{72}{16} or 4.5 meters

Hey there!

To start, first keep in mind that the formula for area is A=L*W where L is the length and W is the width.

Now that we know our area formula, we can plug in our known values which include the length, 5 1/3, and the area, 24.
This would look like this:
24=5 1/3*W

Now that you have this, convert 5 1/3 to an improper fraction to make it easier to divide:
5 1/3=16/3

Now, divide 16/3 from both sides:
24÷16/3=x

Now simplify:
Since you are dividing a fraction, the easiest thing to do would be to convert the expression 24÷16/3 to a multiplication expression. To do this, find the reciprocal of the divisor and change the division sign to a multiplication sign:
24*3/16

Now, multiply straight across and you get 72/16. Now simplify this fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by 8 (the greatest common factor of the numerator and denominator) to get 9/2.

Finally, convert 9/2 to a mixed fraction to get 4 1/2.

Therefore, your final answer would be the width of the shelter is 4 1/2 meters.

The answer would be 1/8 because when 1/8 is divide into the endpoints of AB you will recieve 1/8 of the endpoint numbers. Like 1/8 of 4 would be written as 1/8 times 4/1 since its a fraction multiply 1 times 4 and 8 times 1 to get 4/8. 4 goes into 4 one time and into 8 2 times giving you 1/2. Hope this helped. A rectangular playground is to be fenced off and divided in two by another fence parallel to one side of the playground. Three h
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

 • 50 ft by 75 ft
 • 3750 square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the length of the side not parallel to the partition. Then the length of the side parallel to the partition is ...

 y = (300 -2x)/3

And the enclosed area is ...

 A = xy = x(300 -2x)/3 = (2/3)(x)(150 -x)

This is the equation of a parabola with x-intercepts at x=0 and x=150. The line of symmetry, hence the vertex, is located halfway between these values, at x=75.

The maximum area is enclosed when the dimensions are ...

 50 ft by 75 ft

That maximum area is 3750 square feet.

_____

Comment on the solution

The generic solution to problems of this sort is that half the fence (cost) is used in each of the orthogonal directions. Here, half the fence is 150 ft, so the long side measures 150'/2 = 75', and the short side measures 150'/3 = 50'. This remains true regardless of the number of partitions, and regardless if part or all of one side is missing (e.g. bounded by a barn or river).

If the blue radius below is perpendicular to the green chord and the segment BC is 7.6 units long, what is the length of the cho
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is A. 15.2 units

Step-by-step explanation:

The segment AB is congruent to the segment BC eg AB≅BC Why?

We can prove it with the triangle congruent theorem, postulate side-side-angle

We are watching triangle ΔABO and triangle ΔCBO, they are congruent

first element side OB=OB - common side

second element side OA=OC=r - radius of the circle

third element angle ∡ABO≅∡CBO=90°

According to the postulate side-side-angle we can conclude that triangles

ΔABO≅ΔCBO (triangles are congruent)

If they are congruent all of their elements are also congruent and therefore also

side AB=BC => AB+BC=AC, which is chord => 7.6+7.6=15.2 units

AC= 15.2 units ( chord )

Good luck!!!
