At heart we're being asked for a line through two points,

(40^\circ \textrm{ C}, 355 \textrm { m/s}) \quad \textrm{and} \quad (49^\circ \textrm{ C}, 360 \textrm { m/s})

In general the line through (a,b) and (c,d) is

(y-b)(c-a)=(x-a)(d-b)

Check that you understand why both (a,b) and (c,d) are on this line.

Here our indepedent variable, instead of x, is T, temperature. Our dependent variable is v, velocity. Substituting,

(v - 355)(49 - 40) = (T - 40)(360 - 355)

9(v - 355) = 5(T - 40)

v-355 = \frac 5 9 T - \frac{200}{9}

v= \frac 5 9 T - \frac{200}{9} + 355

v= \frac 5 9 T + \frac{2995}{9}

That's our answer; let's check it.

When T=40, v = (5/9)40 + (2995/9) = 355 good

When T=49, v= (5/9)49 + (2995/9) = 360 good

Annie says the two expressions are equalized. Is she correct? Explain using different strategies -3x+6 and 3(-x -2).
borishaifa [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

By using Distributive Property on 3(-x - 2),

3(-x - 2) = (3)(-x) + (3)(-2) = -3x - 6.

Since -3x - 6 =/= -3x + 6,

they are not equalized.

Margret is inviting 3 friends to a party. If each friend will get 8 cookies and each box has 6 cookies, how many boxes does Marg
Alisiya [41]

Answer:

Margret need to get 4 boxes of cookies.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total friends = 3

Cookies each friend will get = 8

Each box has cookies = 6 cookies

How many boxes does Margret need to get?

Total cookies will be= Total friends x Cookies each friend will get

Total cookies will be= 3 x 8 = 24

If one box has 6 cookies and we need total 24 cookies so, divide 24 by 6 to get number of boxes

Number of boxes = Total cookies/ number of cookies in one box

Number of boxes = 24/6

Number of boxes  = 4

So, Margret need to get 4 boxes of cookies.

Find the area of a trapezoid with base 1 side = 10 base 2 side = 16 and 3
mart [117]

Answer:

Area of Trapezoid is 39 unit²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

For A Trapezoid

The measure of base side 1 = b_1 = 10 unit

The measure of base side 2 = b_2 = 16 unit

The height of the Trapezoid = h = 3 unit

Let  The Area of Trapezoid = A square unit

<u>Now, From Formula</u>

Area of Trapezoid = \dfrac{1}{2} × (sum of opposite base) × height

I.e A =  \dfrac{1}{2} × (b_1 + b_2) × h

Or, A =  \dfrac{1}{2} × (10 unit + 16 unit) × 3 unit

Or, A =  \dfrac{1}{2} × (26 unit) × 3 unit

Or, A =  \dfrac{1}{2} × 78 unit²

Or, A = \dfrac{78}{2} unit²

I.e A = 39 unit²

So, The Area of Trapezoid = A = 39 unit²

Hence, The Area of Trapezoid is 39 unit² . Answer
