Explain how lines of latitude and longitude help people find locations on earth?

The line of latitude specifies where in the direction of North-South a given location is: it gives a line outside of which this place cannot lie.

Then, similarly, longitude specifies where on this line a place is: so the combination of the two gives an unambiguous "address" to a place: while there are numerous others on the same latitude OR longitude, no other places is at the intersection of the two - this makes the location unique and unambiguously possible to locate!

Alinara [238K]

Answer:

Explanation:

The target of The western Expansion was the ex-Louisiana territory that's previously owned by France before being bought by United States.

Many states fight over whether the new western territory should be considered as slaves states (where slavery is allowed) or free states (where slavery is illegal.

On top of that, the navigation technology among settlers were still somewhat primitive. So, when they embarked on a journey from Eastern States to Western states, many of them actually lost their way and ended up settling in Midwest or Southern part of United States.
