A Red Willow is best defined as a small tree that grows near ponds, water features and areas with wet soils. The Red Willow has long narrow leaves with a light-green color and reddish-brown bark that has a rough texture. You can identify a Red Willow by its winding trunk and tall features. They can grow to be around forty feet (40) tall! Red Willow bark is used in medicines to aid with headaches, back pains, and some even say its an alternative to aspirin.
