"Write the balanced chemical equation for the neutralization reaction that occurs when an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid
timurjin [86]

Answer:

KOH(aq) + HCl(aq) ——-> KCl(aq) + H2O(l)

Explanation:

A neutralization reaction is the chemical reaction between an acid and an alkali to yield salt and water only.

In this particular question, the acid is hydrochloric acid while the alkali is potassium solution. We now write the equation of reaction as follows:

KOH(aq) + HCl(aq) ——-> KCl(aq) + H2O(l)

The salt formed here is KCl otherwise called potassium chloride

Where is energy stored in a carbon-based molecule like glucose? responses the space between atoms the space between atoms the hy
Alik [6]

Food is made up of organic (carbon-containing) molecules that contain chemical bonds between their atoms that act as energy storage units. In addition to using the energy in food to fuel life processes, organisms construct larger organic molecules, such as proteins, DNA, and fats (lipids), using the atoms from food molecules.

What is glucose ?

The primary form of sugar in the blood, glucose serves as the body's cells' main source of energy. Glucose can be produced by the body from other chemicals or it can be obtained from the meals we eat. The bloodstream carries glucose to the cells. Insulin is one of many hormones that regulate blood glucose levels.

What was a major flaw in J. J. Thomson’s plum pudding model?
juin [17]
The plum pudding model of the atom was not correct. The prediction that alpha particles would pass through a sample of matter and would be deflected only minimally was disproved by rutherford and co-workers who found that some alpha particles (1 in 8000) bounced almost straight back

A chemist has one solution that is 20% salt and a second solution that is 45% salt. How many liters of each should be used in or
Free_Kalibri [48]

Answer:

8 liters of the first salt solution and 12 liters of the second salt solution is needed to get 20L of a solution that is 30% salt

Explanation:

Let x represent the liters of the first salt solution

Let y represent the liters of the second salt solution

x + y= 20......equation 1

x= 20-y

The first solution is 20% salt and the second solution is 45% salt

20/100x + 45/100 y= 30/100 × 20

0.2x + 0.45y= 0.3×20

0.2x + 0.45y= 6............equation 2

Substitute 20-y for x in equation 2

0.2(20-y) + 0.45y= 6

4-0.2y+ 0.45y= 6

4 + 0.25y= 6

0.25y= 6-4

0.25y= 2

y= 2/0.25

y= 8

Substitute y for 8 in equation 1

x + y= 20

x + 8=20

x= 20-8

x= 12

Hence 8 liters of the first salt solution and 12 liters of the second salt solution is needed to get 20L of a solution that is 30% salt.

Why can gae change volume?A. The ga particle have no ma, o they can change volume. B. Gravity ha no effect on ga particle, o t
Dennis_Churaev [7]

The gases changes its volume because there are no force holding the gas molecules together. Hence the option C is correct.

Gases do not have a definite shape or volume because the molecules in the gases are very loosely packed, they have large intermolecular spaces , hence they move around. The force of attraction between the molecules is also very less, as a result gases acquire any shape or any volume. In comparison to liquids and solids, intermolecular interactions between gas particle are weaker. Because the atoms in gases are loosely connected to one another, they can move more quickly than those in liquids. Thus, gases lack both a defined shape and a defined volume. They merely assume a container-like shape.

So, gas molecules can break loose easily from any boundary and can fill any space. Hence, they do not contain any definite volume.
