1.Robin Lakoff, a linguist who has studied American speech patterns, identified some gender differences.2.Why did she say that w
inna [77]

Women's speech reflects women's traditional lesser power in American society.

Explanation:

According to Lakoff’s book, the way people communicate holds a clear distinction about who holds the power. The language used by both genders depicts gender inequalities and also leads to a lack of women’s power in areas that involves women. In addition, Lakoff states that the language women use to communicate indicate their inferiority and weakness.

She recognized gestures such as hedging, super polite forms, tag questions and many more in women’s language. While this is notable there has been debate regarding gender inequalities arising from language and communication.

How does a survivorship curve help to explain the reproductive strategy of a species? Define two of the three types of survivors
yuradex [85]
There are two types of reproductive strategies: r and k

r- strategy is the type of organism that makes alot of babies. They have limited to no parent care. They also have a high death rate, but matures rapidly. The growth curve would be exponential like X^2.

For example: Think r for RATS because even if you think you killed all the rats, there are constantly making more.

k-strategy is the type of organism that makes a single or few babies. The give alot of attention/parent care. They mature slow, and low death rate. The growth curve is sigmuodial. The have a limited to how much species live in that environment called the carrying capacity. Carrying capacity = maximum of # of population within an environment (food, living space, etc).

For example: Think K for Kangaroo.
