So u would subtract 5 and 1/5. U can't subtract 5 so I have to turn it into a mixed number. So it should look like this 5 5/5 because the whole for 1/5 is 5. So when I make 5 into a mixed number p, u have to turn 5 into 4 because u borrowed so turn it to 4. And so then just subtract it normal 5 5/5 subtract 1/5 and u should get 4 4/5 as your answer.

Can someone please help me with this problem? You need to find the value of x and y by using the strategy of ELIMINATION. Please
Setler [38]

Answer:

x = 136/35; y = -⁹/₁₀

Step-by-step explanation:

(1)         7x + 8y = 20

(2)        7x – 2y = 29       Subtract (2) from (1)

                  10y =  -9        Divide each side by 10

(3)                 y =  -⁹/₁₀     Substitute (3) into (1)

      7x - 2(-⁹/₁₀) = 29

      7x + 18/10  = 29                       Subtract 18/10 from each side

      7x              =      29 - 18/10

      7x              = (290 - 18)/10

      7x              =          272/10        Divide each side by 7

        x              =           272/70

        x              =           136/35

x = 136/35; y = -⁹/₁₀

Check:

(1) 7(136/35) + 8(-⁹/₁₀) = 20

      136/5    -   72/10 = 20

      136/5    -   36/5  = 20

                      100/5  = 20

                       20      = 20

(2) 7(136/35) – 2(-⁹/₁₀)  = 29

       136/5    +    18/10 = 29

       136/5    +      ⁹/₅    = 29

                        145/5  = 29

                        29       = 29

Makovka662 [10]
When in aqueous solution, K2CrO4 dissociates into ions. It dissociates into:

K2CrO4 = 2K+1 + CrO4-1

We do as follows:

Molarity = mol / L = 0.38 g/g solution ( 1.37 g/mL ) ( 1 mol / 194.19 g ) ( 1 mol CrO4-1 / 1 mol K2CrO4 ) ( 1000 mL / 1 L ) =  2.68 M

6(3x – 8) = 7(7x + 7)
Rainbow [258]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

6(3x – 8) = 7(7x + 7)

18x - 48 = 49x + 49

49x - 18x = - 48 - 49

31x = - 97

x = - 97/31
