2\frac{1}{2}=\frac{2\times2+1}{2}=\frac{5}{2}\\\\1\frac{1}{7}=\frac{1\times7+1}{7}=\frac{8}{7}\\\\2\frac{1}{2}:1\frac{1}{7}=\frac{5}{2}:\frac{8}{7}=\frac{5}{2}\times\frac{7}{8}=\frac{35}{16}=\frac{32+3}{16}=\frac{32}{16}+\frac{3}{16}=\boxed{2\frac{3}{16}}

I'm going to change those to 5/2 and 8/7
Dividing is the same multiplying by the reciprocal (reciprocal of x is 1/x, reciprocal of x/y is y/x)
So (5/2)/(8/7)=(5/2)*(7/8)=(5*7)/(2*8)=35/16
Final answer: 35/16

Geometry. What is the measure of segment x rounded to the nearest hundredths place? Check picture below also.
Scorpion4ik [409]

Answer:

D. 21 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to use Power of Points, which basically says that for intersecting chords in a circle (see attachment), a * b = c * d.

Here, we can say that a = x, b = 6, c = 7, and d = 18. Then, we have the equation:

ab = cd

x * 6 = 7 * 18

6x = 126

x = 21

Thus, x is 21 ft.

Hope this helps!

Find the measure of the central angle with an arc length equaling 29.21 and a circumference = 40.44
Dima020 [189]

measure of central angle is 4.607 radians with an arc length equaling 29.21 and a circumference = 40.44

Step-by-step explanation:

Arc length = 29.21

Circumference = 40.44

Central angle = ?

The formula used to find central angle is:

s=r\theta

where s = arc length, r= radius and Ф=central angle.

We need to find radius from circumference

c=2\pi r\\r=\frac{c}{2\pi } \\Putting\,\,values:\\r=\frac{40.44}{2*3.14}\\r=6.43

So, radius = 6.34

Now, finding central angle:

s=r\theta\\29.21=6.34\,\,\theta\\\theta=\frac{29.21}{6.34}\\\theta=4.607\,\,radians

So, measure of central angle is 4.607 radians with an arc length equaling 29.21 and a circumference = 40.44
