Line DG is 24.5. So DO +DG= 24.5

(3x+4) + (5x-1.5) =24.5 then combine like terms.

8x+2.5=24.5

-2.5. -2.5

8x = 22 then divide both sides by 8

X=2.75.

To find DO and OG plug in the value of X and solve

DO

3(2.75) +4

8.25+4 = 12.25

OG

5(2.75) -1.5

13.75 - 1.5= 12.25

If a town with a population of 500 doubles in size every 80 years, what will the population be 160 years from now?
MariettaO [177]

Answer: 2000

Step-by-step explanation:

From the information, we are informed that a population of 500 doubles in size every 80 years. Therefore, the population in 160 years will have doubled twice i.e 160/80 = 2 times

First time doubling = 500 × 2 = 1000

Second time doubling = 1000 × 2 = 2000
