X = 3
y = 5
(3,5)
I used substitution because It seemed the easiest.
From the second equation I isolated it for Y to get y=20-5x

I plugged this in to the other equation for the Y value to perform substitution.

-7x + 8 (20-5x) = 19
then it's simple algebra

-7× + 160 - 40x = 19
-47x + 160 = 19

subtract 160 from both side and divide both side by -47 to isolate x.

-47x = -141
x=3

then to find Y, simple plug this into one of the equation above. or simply use this one that we already isolated for Y:
y=20-5x
y=20-5 (3)
y=5

hope that helps

True or False: (EXPLAIN your answer) If angle CEF is complementary to angle DCF,
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

True

Step-by-step explanation:

Givens:

From if part: m<CEF+m<DCF=90

From picture: m<CEF+m<FEG=90

Subtracting the equations we get:

m<DCF-m<FEG=0

Adding m<FEG on both sides:

m<DCF=m<FEG

So true.

Round the following as specified.

153.38519 to the nearest thousandth.
In-s [12.5K]

Answer:

153.3852

Step-by-step explanation:

After the decimal, you count the places. 3 is in the ones place, 8 in the tenths, 5 in the hundreths, and 1 in the thousandths. The thousandths place is what we are rounding, so we look at the next number, 9, which tells us to round the 1 up to 2

Jonathon has a bag that contains exactly one red marble (r), one yellow marble (y), and one green marble (g). He chooses a marbl
wariber [46]

Answer:

          [ry, yr, gy, yg, rg, gr]-Any three picks from this sample space.

Step-by-step explanation:

-The bag contains exactly 1r, \ 1y, \ 1g \ marbles.

-He picks one ball without looking, and chooses a second ball without replacing the first:

  • If the first is red, the the second is either yellow or green,
  • If the first is a yellow, then the second can be red or green,
  • If the first is green, then the second can be a red or yellow.

The sample space of the second pick is therefore:

                               [ry, yr, gy, yg, rg, gr]

Hence, any three picks from the sample space are correct possible outcomes.
