It attaches to chromosomes to split them into two identical sets. This allows the cell to reproduce exact copies of itself (assuming we don’t have nondisjunction!)

Ivahew [28]

The correct answer is A. Experimental group

Explanation:

In experiments, the experimental group refers to the group of subjects that receives special treatment or in which the scientist or researcher intervenes. This is the opposite of a control group that does not receive treatment and therefore, it is used as a reference to measure the effect of the treatment.

This implies, in the experiment presented Group A is the control group as they do not have special treatment because they sleep normally and Group B is the experimental group as the researcher modifies their sleep time and reduces it two hours which means in this group there is a treatment or intervention.

The vertebrate pax-6 gene product (the pax-6 protein) triggers a complex program of gene expression resulting in formation of th
Dahasolnce [82]
The PAX-6 gene is a gene that translates to the PAX-6 protein that serves as a transcription factor needed to activate certain genes that functions in the development of the eyes. While PAX-6 gene may look like it produces different functions for different species (such as formation of the compound eye in insects vs. formation of a single lens eye in vertebrates), it does not. It does in fact only regulate the genes required for the formation of the eyes. Absence or mutation of the PAX-6 gene will cause aniridia or absence of the iris, opaque lens and cornea, and a dysfunctional retina. Also, the function of the PAX-6 protein is conserved throughout evolution of species.

How would you write the correct scientific name for humans
guapka [62]

The Latin names for individual species are written using a system termed "binomial nomenclature" that was developed originally by Linnaeus. Quite literally, each species is identified by a combination of "two names": its genus name and its specific epithet. A familiar example is that of human beings, Homo sapiens.

9. Which of the following forms of renewable energy
Stolb23 [73]

Answer:

b. passive solar heating

Explanation:

Passive solar heating is a system designed to use solar energy (energy from the sun) for the purpose of providing electricity or heat. This system is used in households and offices to absorb, retain and supply heat to the desired location.

This system is termed "passive" because it does not require any external device for conversion of solar energy rather it exploits sun's energy directly. Hence, according to this question, PASSIVE SOLAR HEATING is the form of renewable energy that uses the sun's energy most directly.
