Write a function that relates the commission earned by a salesperson, C(p), to the profit earned on the car, p. The salespeople

at a local car dealership are paid a commission based on the profit earned from each car they sell. If the profit is less than $900, the salesperson gets 15% of the profit as commission. If the profit on the car is equal to or between $900 and $1,500, the salesperson gets 17% of the profit. Even better, if the profit on the car sold is more than $1,500, the salesperson gets 21% of the profit as commission.

Answer:

The salesperson earns $60 for every $200 profit.

profit         0    100  200 300  400 500 600 700

commission 0 0 60 60 120 120 180 180

Therefore, .  C(p) =60||\frac{x}{200}||.

               0.15p , p < $900
C(p) =     0.17p,  $900 < p < $1,500
               0.21p,  p > $1,500

Which expression is equivalent to 2x^(2)+11x+5
beks73 [17]

Answer:

(x + 5)(2x + 1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

2x² + 11x + 5

Consider the factors of the product of the coefficient of the x² term and the constant term which sum to give the coefficient of the x- term.

product = 2 × 5 = + 10 and sum = + 11

The factors are + 10 and + 1

Use these factors to split the x- term

2x² + 10x + x + 5 ( factor the first/second and third/fourth terms )

= 2x(x + 5) + 1 (x + 5) ← factor out (x + 5 from each term

= (x + 5)(2x + 1) ← in factored form

What is an equation of a line in point slope form that passes through the points (7,-8) and (-4,6)?
maw [93]

y=kx+b

for (7,-8): -8=7k+b. (function 1)

for (-4,6): 6=-4k+b (function 2)

Use function 2 - function 1

we get: 14=-11k

k=-14/11------>slope is -14/11

Now we know that first two options are wrong since they have the wrong slope for the function.

Plus -14/11 back to function 1/ or 2. Both are correct and can give you the answer. In this case I would plug it back to function 2.

6=14*4/11+b

b=66/11-56/11

b=10/11

We get y=-14/11x+10/11

subtract both side by 6.

y-6=-14/11x+10/11-66/11

y-6=-14/11x-56/11

y-6=-14/11(x+4)

So C is correct
