C13H19O2 = (12 * 13) + (1 *19) + (16 *2) = 156 + 19 + 32 = 207.
The formula is n = molar mass of molecular formular / molar mass of empirical formular. MM of molecular formula = 414.7 and of empirical formula =207
So n = 414.7 / 207 = 2.
So the true molecular formula is 2(C13H19O9) = C26H38O18.

What is the angle between the carbon-chlorine bonds in the phosgene ( cocl2 ) molecule?
lina2011 [118]

Answer: The angle between the carbon-chlorine bonds in phosgene will be 120°

Explanation: Formula used to calculate the hybridization:

{\text{Number of electron pairs}} =\frac{1}{2}[V+N-C+A]

where,

V = number of valence electrons present in central atom i.e. carbon = 4

N = number of monovalent atoms bonded to central atom = 2

C = charge of cation = 0

A = charge of anion = 0

For COCl_2

{\text{Number of electron pairs}} =\frac{1}{2}[4+2-0+0]=3

The number of electron pairs are 3 which means that the hybridization will be sp^2 and the electronic geometry of the given molecule will be trigonal planar.

The bond angle in this electronic geometry is 120°

The structure of phosgene is attached below.

On a warm summer day in Helsinki, the temperature is 20°C and the relative humidity is 40%. What is the absolute humidity? Numbe
arsen [322]

Answer:

For the resolution of these questions, it necessary to get the information from the well known humidity charts that allow us to accurately and quickly know all the values required for being able to use these values in other more specific procedures, then the values obtained are getting as:

absolute humidity = 0.0069 kg/kg air

humid volume = 128.7 m3 /kg dry air

specific enthalpy = 36.64 kJ/kg

Based on position in the periodic table and electron configuration, arrange these elements in order of decreasing Ei1.
irakobra [83]

Answer:

Rb<K<Ga<As<Se<S

Explanation:

We must remember that first ionization energy decreases down the group and increases across the period.

First ionization energy decreases down the group because of the addition of more shells which increases the distance between the nucleus and the outermost electron. Hence, Rb has a lower ionization energy that K.

Across the period, increase in the size of the nuclear charge causes the pull of the nucleus on the outermost electrons to increase thereby increasing the ionization energy. Hence ionization energy increases across the period. For this reason, the ionization energy of Ga<As<Se as shown.

An outdoor grill has a propane (C3H8) tank that holds 4.8 L of gas at a pressure of 5.5 atm. If all of the gas is transferred in
shtirl [24]

Answer: 0.176 atm

Explanation: Solution attached:

Use Boyle's Law to find the new pressure of the gas.

P1V1 = P2V2

Derive for P2

P2 = P1V1 / V2

= 5.5 atm ( 4.8 L ) / 150 L

= 0.176 atm

Commercially available aqueous nitric acid has a density of 1.42 g/mL and a concentration of 16 M. Calculate the mass percent of
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

The mass % of HNO3 in the solution is 71.0 %

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Density of HNO3 = 1.42 g/mL

Concentration = 16 M = 16 mol /L

Molar mass HNO3 = 63.01 g/mol

Assume the volume = 1L or 1000 mL

Step 2: Calculate mass of the solution

Mass = density * volume

Mass = 1.42 g/mL * 1000 mL

Mass = 1420 grams

Step 3: Calculate moles HNO3

Moles = molarity * volume

Moles = 16 M * 1L

Moles = 16 moles

Step 4: Calculate mass HNO3

Mass HNO3 = moles * molar mass

Mass HNO3 = 16.0 moles * 63.01 g/mol

Mass HNO3 = 1008.16 grams

Step 5: Calculate the mass percent

mass % = (1008.16 grams / 1420 grams) *100%

mass % = 71.0 %

The mass % of HNO3 in the solution is 71.0 %
