Which of these statements best proves that electromagnetic forces are weaker than strong nuclear forces? Neutrons do not repel o

r attract each other when they are in the nucleus. Electrons do not move out of an atom when it forms bonds with other atoms. Protons do not move out of the nucleus of atoms although they repel each other. Atoms do not have any charge on them although they consist of charged particles.

Answer: Protons do not move out of the nucleus of atoms although they repel each other.

Reasoning:

Remember that protons are particles with positive charge and they held together in the nucleus of the atom which is a tiny tiny region. As you know, like charges repel each other, which means that the protons exert a repulsion force.

That repulsion force tends to destabilize the atom. The only reason why the atom does not explode is because there is a there exists a force of attraction that exceeds the repulsion of the like charged protons. That is the strong nuclear force. Therefore, the strong nuclear forces are stronger than the electromagnetic force that tends to get the protons apart.

when electrical energy is used what type of energy is also produced and considered to be waste energy?
Dima020 [189]

Answer:

Thermal energy

Explanation:

Electrical Energy

The electrical energy has been found to be an excellent resource to power our modern lifestyle. It can be produced in several ways including hydroelectrical plants, thermal plants, nuclear plants, solar panels, among many others. Each one of them converts different types of energy into electrical energy.

When converting to electrical energy, some equipment is needed, like generators, transformers, cables, circuit breakers, and every kind of devices with specific functions to have a good and safe electrical service. Each device has an internal resistance that opposes the flow of current. The resistances produce thermal energy as a result of current flowing through them. It's not possible to avoid this waste of energy, electrical engineers do their best to use better materials and configurations to reduce the thermal waste to a minimum.

Having established that a sound wave corresponds to pressure fluctuations in the medium, what can you conclude about the directi
DaniilM [7]

Answer:

the pressure fluctuation is LONGITUDINAL

Explanation:

Sound waves are an oscillating movement of air particles, this can be analyzed in two different, but equivalent ways, as an air oscillation and with a pressure wave due to these oscillations.

The expression for the wave is

        ΔP = Δo sin (kx - wt)

Therefore, the pressure variation is in the same direction as the displacement variation, consequently the pressure fluctuation is LONGITUDINAL

In a football game, the running back takes a handoff and begins running toward midfield at 3.21 yards/s . As he moves through hi
Inessa [10]

Given Information:

Initial speed = u = 3.21 yards/s

Acceleration = α  = 1.71 yards/s²

Final speed = v = 7.54 yards/s

Required Information:

Distance = s = ?

Answer:

Distance = s = 13.61

Explanation:

We are given the speeds and acceleration of the runner and we want to find out how much distance he covered before being tackled.

We know from the equations of motion,

v² = u² + 2αs

Where u is the initial speed of the runner, v is the final speed of the runner, α is the acceleration of the runner and s is the distance traveled by the runner.

Re-arranging the above equation for distance yields,

2αs = v² - u²

s = (v² - u²)/2α

s = (7.54² - 3.21²)/2×1.71

s = 46.55/3.42

s = 13.61 yards

Therefore, the runner traveled a distance of 13.61 yards before being tackled.
