Answer:

The occurrence of El Nino represents the increasing sea surface temperature in  the Pacific Ocean that takes place near the western coastal side of South America. The scientists working at NASA, NOAA, and at other scientific research  organizations around the earth at different locations monitors and surveys these changing pattern and the effect of sea surface temperature in order to  make a better prediction of the El Nino events. These data are collected from the satellites that orbits our planet earth and from the buoys that floats over the Pacific oceans and records the characteristics of sea surface. These data are then compiled to prepare charts related to the sea-surface temperature charts that provides them to visually predict the occurrence of El Nino.

So, the computer is a useful device to map El Nino.
