If you have ever swum in a pool and your eyes began to sting and turn red, you are aware of the effects on an incorrect pH level

. The pH level measures the concentration of hydronium ions and can be modeled by the function p(t) = –log10 t. The variable t represents the amount of hydronium ions, and p(t) gives the resulting pH level.
Water at 25 degrees Celsius has a pH of 7. Anything that has a pH lower than 7 is called acidic, while a pH above 7 is basic, or alkaline. Seawater has a pH just over 8, while lemonade has a pH of approximately 3.

Create a graph of the pH function. Locate on your graph where the pH value is 0 and where it is 1. You may need to zoom in on your graph.
A pool company forgets to bring their logarithmic charts, but they need to raise the amount of hydronium ions in a pool by 0.50. Using complete sentences, explain how your graph can be used to solve 10–y = 0.50. Find the approximate solution.
The pool company has developed new chemicals that transform the pH scale. Using the pH function p(t) = –log10 t as the parent function, explain which transformation would result in a y-intercept. Use complete sentences and show all translations on your graph.

• p(t) + 1
• p(t + 1)
• –1 • p(t)

You need to first do area. You do coordinate grids. First, you have do find the unkwon numbers and simplify it by two. You first  put 3 numbers on y grid and 3 on x grid. You then add them 3 and seperate and other one too. Then make it up a fraction. If there is variable, then don't you leave it.

Create the Systems of inequality for the following scenario:
Lana71 [14]

Answer:

8 x + 25y ≥100

x+y ≤ 14

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we to write a system of inequalities.

First inequality:

The product of the earnings per hour working at culvers (8) and the number of hours worked there, plus the product of the earnings per hour mowing lawns (8) and the number of hours mowing must be greater or equal to $100.

Second inequality:

The amount of time he works at culvers (x) plus the amount of time he works mowing lawn (y) must be less or equal to 14 hours.

8 x + 25y ≥100

x+y ≤ 14

Where:

x = number of hours worked at Culvers

y= number of hours worked Mowing lawns

Write your answer with no space and any fraction with “/“
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

y+3=2(x-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Point-slope form is y-y_1 = m (x-x_1). In order to write a linear equation using this form, the y_1, x_1 and m must be substituted by real numbers.

The m represents the slope of the equation. We know that the answer has to be parallel to the line y=2x-1. y=2x-1 is already in slope-intercept form, or y=mx+b, in which m represents the slope. We can see that the 2 is in place of that m, therefore 2 is the slope of y=2x-1. Lines that are parallel have the same slope, so we know that the slope of the new equation must be 2 as well.

The x_1 and y_1 represent the x and y values of one point that the line passes through. We know that the new equation must pass through the point (1, -3), so we'll substitute 1 in place of the x_1 and -3 in place of the y_1.

Substituting for those three values will give you an equation like this, therefore it is the answer:

y-(-3)= 2(x-(1))

y+3= 2(x-1)
