Answer

test statistic t =  -2.27

P-value p- value  =  0.0198

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

     The  first  sample  size is  n_1 = 5

     The first  sample mean is  \= x_1  =  1.76 \ mm

     The first  standard is  s_1   =  0.55

     The second is sample \ size\ is\  n_2 =  11

     The second sample mean is  \= x_2   = 2.56

     The second standard deviation is  \sigma = 0.84

      The level of significance is \alpha = 0.01

The  null hypothesis is H_o :  \mu_1 - \mu_2 = 0

The  alternative hypothesis is  H_a: \mu_1 - \mu_2 <  0

Generally the test statistics is mathematically represented as

           t =  \frac{ (\= x _1 - \= x_2) - ( \mu_1 - \mu_2)}{ \sqrt{\frac{s_1 ^2 }{ n_1 }  + \frac{s_1 ^2 }{ n_1 }  } }

=>        t =  \frac{ (1.76 - 2.56 ) - 0 }{ \sqrt{\frac{0.55^2 }{ 5 }  + \frac{0.84^2 }{11 }  } }

=>        t =  -2.27

Generally degree of freedom is mathematically represented as

          df  = n_1 + n_2 - 2

=>       df  = 5 + 11 - 2

=>       df  = 14

From the student t distribution table the probability value to the left that corresponds to t = -2.27  at a degree of freedom of  df = 14 is

        p- value  =  0.0198

Two particles move in the xy-plane. At time t, the position of particle A is given by x(t)=5t−5 and y(t)=2t−k, and the position
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

Part A)  Not collide

Part B)  k = 4

Part C)  Particle B is moving fast.

Step-by-step explanation:

Two particles move in the xy-plane. At time, t

<u><em>Position of particle A:-</em></u>

x(t)=5t-5

y(t)=2t-k

<em><u>Position of particles B:-</u></em>

x(t)=4t

y(t)=t^2-2t+1

Part A)  For k = -6

Position particle A, (5t-5,2t+6)

Position of particle B, (4t,t^2-2t-1)

If both collides then x and y coordinate must be same

Therefore,

  • For x-coordinate:

5t - 5 = 4t

       t = 5

  • For y-coordinate:

2t+6=t^2-2t-1

t^2-4t-7=0

t=-1.3,5.3

The value of t is not same. So, k = -6 A and B will not collide.

Part B) If both collides then x and y coordinate must be same

  • For x-coordinate:

5t - 5 = 4t

       t = 5

  • For y-coordinate:

2t-k=t^2-2t-1

Put t = 5

10-k=25-10-1

k=4

Hence, if k = 4 then A and B collide.

Part C)

Speed of particle A, \dfrac{dA}{dt}

\dfrac{dA}{dt}=\dfrac{dy}{dt}\cdot \dfrac{dt}{dx}

\dfrac{dA}{dt}=2\cdot \dfrac{1}{5}\approx 0.4

Speed of particle B, \dfrac{dB}{dt}

\dfrac{dB}{dt}=\dfrac{dy}{dt}\cdot \dfrac{dt}{dx}

\dfrac{dB}{dt}=2t-2\cdot \dfrac{1}{4}

At t = 5

\dfrac{dB}{dt}=10-2\cdot \dfrac{1}{4}=2

Hence, Particle B moves faster than particle A

Nookie1986 [14]

Let

C----------------- > charges for the purchases to the credit card

<span>r------------------- > the interest rate    </span>

X------------------ > total cost of the purchase

 we know that

C=4120

r= 22.45%=0.2245

X=C*(1+r)

 substituting the values in the formula

X=(4120)*(1+0.2245)= (4120)*(1.2245)=5044.94

<span>The graph will get flatter from –1 to 1.As you raise a proper fraction to higher even powers, you get smaller values, so the y-values get closer to the x-axis.The graph will get closer to the y-axis, or narrower.As you raise values greater than 1 (or less than –1) to higher even powers, you get larger values, so the graph increases at a faster rate.

I hope my answer has come to your help. God bless and have a nice day ahead!
